Slap Toney Douglas on him and we'll be fine. You don't want an aggressive D.Will because that equals P&R plays. That speeds up the game and picks up usage % for that player. That plays right into our defense. I have to admit, there's a hefty amount of trash talking for beating a team that's tired as hell. Game 3 decides the series for me.

Problem for Brooklyn is they're going to always be tired at this point lol. If you can't recover in 48 hours you're toast. Clips and Spurs also had the same amount of rest. Nets might get one game this series...I'd be surprised if they get more than that.

Credit Miami's defense. They completely walloped the Nets and overwhelmed them. I hope the Nets adjust in game 2 and at least reduce the amount of points in the paint. The pressure is on the Nets and they have shown resiliency all season. Can they come back and win game2? We'll see. I must say, however, that the Heat defense, when it's on and clicking, is just excellent. They really stifle you and take your game away.

With that said, Go Nets!

Miami cheats way too much on defense. If Deron Williams told Jason Kidd to run Sloan's semi-flex, it would kill them and revive the career of the former greatest point guard in the league.

That sucks a ton man.. Main reason I like this series is for the small rivalry between LeBron and Pierce/Garnett.

The thing that impressed me about Miami's defense last night (and every game, really) is that they are amazing at recovering and closing out on the open man. The Nets were getting tons of open looks versus the Raptors by swinging the ball around the key and getting a good shot off, but it's not as successful versus Miami. They need to figure out a way to get easier points, preferably in the paint.

Every game in the series will be played every other day.

If Brooklyn is tired now, they will be tired in game 3 after traveling from Florida to New York

The thing is, our swarming defense in the playoffs is so good, even if dwill breaks his defenders ankles, hes gonna meet 2-3 more help defenders at the rim because our defense is predicated on leaving the three pt line open and choking off all two pt baskets at all costs.

The downside to this is three pt shooters are constantly left wide open, but thats what Erick Spoelstra wants, to encourage teams to shoot threes all game.

Now when people are HITTING those three pt shots at a historical rate (see Danny Green and Gary Neal), we are very beatable and very vulnerable.

But over the course of 7 games, the law of averages starts to kick in more often than not, other teams hot three pt shooting starts to come back down to earth.

The Miami Heat play Pat Riley basketball, every time.

JAY DASH wrote:Heat really looked like they were going a little more than half speed last night and won comfortably. Their execution in the halfcourt was a thing of beauty. It's sad seeing KG and Pierce like this....gotta know when to hang up the laces man.

I do expect one throwback night from Paul before this series is over, but even in that game I'm not sure the Nets win. D-Will just doesn't seem to realize he can put up 40 on Chalmers and I don't understand why.

You're right--Heat looked content to play in the half court on offense. They looked ultra methodical and still blew the Nets out. Slowing things down used to be the blueprint for beating Miami, but now even that doesn't work.

It's like all the league has left is: 1) hit a godly amount of threes or 2) have your big man play like KAJ for a series.

Spurs are the only team who might be able to deliver on either/both.

Deron Williams is not the same player that he was in Utah. Personally I never found him to be that great but he's definitely declined since going to the Nets. He can give you 30 on some nights but he can't do it consistently due to injuries & him declining

deron williams is trash. forget 30 or 40 points. im just hoping chalmers doesnt outplay him

It's why Miami being the oldest team in the league is an illusion, their rotation is filled with guys who are all athletic and or quick on their feet in terms of rotations and deflections. They all can run:

LeBron
Wade
Bosh
Cole
Birdman(Very athletic for his age)
Allen(see above)
Chalmers
Haslem to an extent.

You can only really say that Battier is the one who is physically his age but what he doesn't have in physical attributes, he makes up with in B-ball IQ.

Heat going to clock that second W tonight! Should be a blowout. Can't wait! This is what 100, 000 million gets you in pro-sports,folks. A mediocre season, followed by a 7 game first round against an inexperienced young team and a second round exit.

Take note : buying rings in this manner doesn't work.
