Umm Philly record wise is a top 5 team. Bucks aren't.

Based on predictions for end of season. Current records are pretty skewed by schedule, you can look at SRS as a guide. Anyway, this is how I think it plays out but could be wrong.

Dame might need to be #2 to Bron at this point. Jokic, Embiid and Kawhi have played better so far but Kawhi/Embiid have been and will be missing much more games. Denver is not good enough to warrant Jokic winning it at their record as the 8 seed

And Dame usually plays his best ball mid to late season which is about to start too. His numbers are already great and he just had a 43/16 game. It's insane they're the 4 seed with a 6 game win streak with Cj and Nurk missing over half the season

Bucks are not as good as last year. They've lost to some pretty bad teams.

Another loss for the nuggets. What a waste.

Leaders
1. Jokic
2. LeBron

Contenders
3. Embiid
4. Kawhi

Punchers Chance
5. Gobert
6. Steph
7. Lillard

My list from a week+ ago

now

Leaders
1. LeBron
2. Embiid

Contenders
3. Jokic
4. Gobert

Punchers Chance
5. Steph
6. Lillard
7. Kawhi

Joker & Kawhi are my biggest losers.

Joker is playing incredible ball but needs to get wins otherwise, he's out of the running entirely in 2-3 weeks if this keeps up. Kawhi has played well, but his team is crazy stacked and he has begun his load management once again. PG has been roughly as good as him and the team is still very competitive without both. If he starts missing any more games, I think he gets removed from the race entirely as well. I think the Blazers/Dame should be jumping into contenders/leaders or even leaders if they keep this up, but I'll have to see considering their SRS.

Gobert just put up another 23-20 whilst having the best record and beating every good team out there. He's moved up and above Jokic for me at this point. Can't reward an MVP candidate with an 8th seed at this moment.

1. LeBron
2. Embiid
3. Gobert
4. Dame
5. Jokic

Without Jokic, the Nuggets would probably be dead last in the West.

Same could be said for Curry though. But my point still remains that you can't reward a great player when he's only 8th.

No chance Gobert wins MVP unfortunately.

In the last 30 years, there's only one player who won MVP averaging less than 20 points and that's Steve Nash who won it mainly because of how much he impacted Phoenix's offense. Gobert's averaging 13 points right now and unless he can somehow bump that up 7 or more points, I can't see a scenario where he's even considered for MVP.

At this point the race is different than a couple weeks ago imo. Leonard, kd keep missing games, bucks and nuggets keep losing. Dame rises, luka and steph go up, also gotta reward utah's donovan and gobert.

Lebron
Embiid
Jokic
Dame
Leonard
Gobert
Mitchell
Curry
Giannis
Doncic

Completely different from my previous lists, but, you know, dame is really balling, has a very good record and he shouldnt't have one, only missed one game, meanwhile leonard has missed 7. At this point you gotta really reward mitchell and gobert for an historic 2/5s of the season, and also luka has been balling lately, and things are going better for the mavs, but 13-15 is still way too low.

Lol, it would be funny if Gobert somehow got MVP. Then he'd have the same amount of MVPs as Shaq by averaging 14/12 and getting paid more too. XD

Duh. But it would be funny to see Shaq meltdown on TNT.

I'd have Embiid and Dame clearly over Lebron at this point. "Team record" doesn't matter at all to me when we're still this early in the season and the Lakers only have 3-4 more wins than the Sixers and Blazers, especially when those two guys are absolutely crushing him in almost every metric. Once Denver's record evens out (they're still Top-5 in point differential), then Jokic is another pretty easy argument to make.
