Jordan was super competitive and LeBron is super competitive. I don't get what more needs to be said on the matter.

was Macready the thing or not ffs? Were they both the thing in the end?
Raul
“The other day I saw one of his games. He was running with the ball at a hundred per cent full speed, I don’t know how many touches he took, maybe five or six, but the ball was glued to his foot. It’s practically impossible.”

Just looking for answers. Thanks in advance.
player b sought to unbalance the league in his favor. he put his well-muscled thumb on the scales
you're reasoning has LITERALLY NUTTIN' to do with competitiveness

Yep. This is the way.
They're both amazing players, legends of basketball who changed the meta of the sport.
They both dominated games in their own way. They were both fun to love, fun to hate, and insane to watch.
They'll never play each other, let alone in their primes. They both faced different competition and different strategies.
They both took different routes to greatness, each defining their eras and becoming THE face of the league.
Comparison is the thief of joy. LBJ and MJ both played the game better than pretty much everyone ever, and definitely better than anyone else at their position. Why not enjoy two greats rather than argue over them?

Naw it was Child’s, too suspicious at the end when he leaves the lookout. He was assimilated last, great movie! Gotta see it in 4k, practical effects still amazing

Since nothing else could be accomplished, Jordan retired. Lebron still has a goal to accomplish, and that's why he is still playing.
First retirement he was behind Magic, Kareem and Russell for titles. He hadn't passed Kareem in career scoring. There was still plenty to achieve on the Court. Even after the second retirement he remained far behind Russell's titles and Kareem's points.
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.

Re: RGM GOAT Debate Thread (Part 2), Fresh New Poll
I think the more you hear from MJ stans, the more you realize they came to their conclusions in 2011 and have not adjusted their arguments over the past 14 years.
BaF Lakers:
Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela
Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

11 is 180% of 6.
6 is 150% of 4.
Can we both agree Bill Russell is the GOAT and move along then?

Jordan won his rings only because the pistons, celtics and lakers were no longer a powerhouse like they were in the 1980s

Its not lol. So much of winning championships is dependent on your supporting casts that it doesn't make sense to look at it as a metric. MJ was roughly the same player in 1996-1998 as he was in 1988-1990 (if not somewhat worse), but he threepeated in the former because he had amazing supporting casts

Right, that's the problem. You provide context with Russell but don't with LeBron, Jordan or Kareem.
Its always the problem with the GOAT debate. Everyone has their own preconceived notions and look for excuses to explain away the other competitions in order to prop up their player who they want to be GOAT.
A true GOAT debate would be starting with a blank slate then adding players but you are starting with Jordan as the GOAT and explaining away everyone else for any reason that works for you.

If LeBron remained the same player, that would make sense. He didn't though. He worked on his game and changed his approach to be a more aggressive scorer. The problems with his game that cost him that series haven't cost him any series since, and to the contrary the weaknesses exposed in that series were turned into strengths that won him series such as 2012 vs. Celtics and the 2018 Eastern Conference run.
