Saric knows he needs to work on his 3-ball. but no doubt about his current dominance as he's come on strong adjusting to the league. he was well worth the wait.

Saric's just rolling right now.

Valentine's secured himself in the rotation at this point as well. Another solid double digit game from him.

He is having 7 monster games in a row. He is always finding a way to score at least 14-15 points without relying on his 3 point shooting. Last year he would only score in double digits if he was hot from beyond the arc which Im glad is not the case anymore.

Saric is good, but most importantly, he's tough. He doesn't back down. Hideous facial hair though. Needs to trim those sideburns. :P

2016-17 Rookie Watch thread

Post#990 » by Paradise » Sun Feb 26, 2017 6:15 pm

Isaiah Whitehead did this last night.

He's quietly putting together a solid rookie season. 7.0 Points, 2.9 Assists. 3rd among rookies in assists, 9th in scoring among rookies.

Ingram shows off a diverse set of offensive moves, and he throws down a nice dunk too. I'd love to see more of this to finish out the season.

Jaylen may go down as the best player from this draft class.

I know people will probably disagree but I really agree. The dude is improving every game and is already a value rotation piece on a 2nd seed team. His shot has improved tremendously and his handle seemingly improves as he gets more and more comfortable and the game slows down for him. I'm very excited to see him perform come playoff time

To be fair, Jaylen gets protected because when he **** up, Stevens yanks him because Boston is trying to win games. That's why we see less mistakes from Brown and a lot more net positive. The Lakers are tanking to keep the pick and so theyre looking for development and let Ingram play through his mistakes, and therefore is exposed a lot more.

If Brown can keep playing the way he has the last 10 games or so though, there will defitantly be a lot of warranted excitement. Over the past month he's putting up a respectable 10 ppg in 25 minutes, but his percentages look good (45 FG%/37 3P%) and he's getting to the line more than anyone after IT. He can really fill a key hole the celtics have had which is slashing wing

Double edged sword actually. Other rooks have the luxury of committing mistakes and playing more minutes because they are in lottery teams. While Brown needs to earn his minutes and the trust of his coach. He was barely stepping foot on the court before AB got injured, but before that he has shown some flashes of potential.

As a Celtic fan, I am happy where we are right now with Brown.

PS, he has improved his shooting, which was the biggest knock on him

Brogdon was the reason the Bucks didn't lose yesterday (they should have lost).

He has played in 31 games, and he will likely not play another game this season. So he will finish having played in roughly 37% of the NBA games this season.

He should not be in consideration, in my opinion.

It will be between Saric and Brogdon. Saric will win it if, as it has been in the past, based only upon stats. If role, etc., are considered, it will be a much closer race.
