What about Embiid+Giannis+Tatum?

What about Embiid+Giannis+Tatum?

Embiid 3rd, Giannis 5th, Tatum 4th and then I have a glut of guards in Curry, Haliburton, Booker, Fox, Maxey to round out top 10

But does Dame cancel out some potential votes for Giannis? Having a superstar teammate sometimes has that effect.

Ehh. Nuggets are pretty stacked so I don’t see how. Barring a slowdown, Jokic runs away with this. I don’t think anyone can deny him rn. Dude is playing at a historic pace like it’s rookie mode on 2k. It doesn’t make sense how a dude so unathletic is so good but it just is. And it’s not even like Luka where he’s a sneaky athlete, Jokic legit is one of the worst athletes in the league.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

It’s still Jokic but Giannis is clearly the still the second best player in the league...proved it again tonight. Just unstoppable

He has possibly the best hands ever, quick feet and moves very well for a 7foot 270 guy, hand eye etc.

Far from the worst athlete. I actually think Towns/Davis are worse fundamentally. They can’t hold any extra weight and can be very sloppy with how they move. He was running circles on Val because his foot movement is so crisp. A ton of Forefoot/Midfoot in close

Yeah I feel like Jokic is just in his own tier right now, but Giannis is still number 2. Coming off off-season surgery he's really starting to ramp up his impact.

It’s clear...Giannis still miles ahead of the pack...but Jokic put some space between him and Giannis. Giannis might be an all time great in his prime and Jokic is just better...insane

Everyone else is fighting out 2nd place.

Jokic is further ahead from 2nd than 2nd probably is from 10th in the race.

Only an insane injury should stop Jokic from getting his 3rd MVP.

injury sure but team record is also in play.
Nuggets might look shiny now but they are only 2-3 away from Denver (which also means most of their games have been home games thus far) and they are without Murray going into a tougher part of their schedule.

they are also still relatively thin, even small injuries to guys like AG, MPJ etc. would have a real impact on them
with so many guys playing at an extremely high level, tradition might still be in effect in an event of a significant difference in team record. way too soon to know, but he's def ahead right now :)

Denver could start racking up losses. This Murray guy just has to keep getting injured. Denver hasn’t been a great road team and I don’t see why that would change now.

Very early version of DunksandThrees EPM for the 2024 Season. Jokic in first but Embiid not that far behind https://dunksandthrees.com/epm

What happened to Trae Young? Rarely hear his name mentioned these days.

11 games in, he's a top playmaker running a top-6 offense. But the shooting efficiency is pretty abysmal.

He starts slow every season TBH.

Indiana seems to have taken the approach I wanted us to run with Trae - a fun, run-and-gun, high paced offense that overpowers opponents -- despite playing shoddy defense.

Leading to inflated stats that put the floor general into the MVP, All-NBA conversation.

I don't think he'll actually be in the running because he won't crack the god-tier of statistical production...

With this level of efficiency and the elite assist numbers, he'll likely get Steve Nash-like MVP consideration -- if his team is winning at a high enough clip.
Thats key. Top 2 seed while running the top offense.

I think haliburton is a future mvp with the above ingredients. But i said that a year and a half ago.

Epm is supposed to be one of the best advanced stats out there, came out a few seasons ago.

Also does a better job measuring defensive impact. You can see Jokic is a negative over there, while Embiid is +1.2.

People really still believe Jokic is a negative defensively?

Jokic getting blown out for over 20 points needs to count for something in dinging him. Especially when Embiid has been putting up these numbers with atleast 4-5 games where he hasn't played the entire 4th quarter.
