Yea, I guess "choke in the playoffs" fits the bill for a guy who dropped 35 points and 12 rebounds on 53% shooting per game in his last playoff series. People are just blind with their hate.

This guy did a lot with minimal talent besides him in the past and now I am genuinely curious to see what he does with legit help.

Dirk is no more of a career choker than Kobe Bryant. If you are gonna call out Dirk in 06' then you have to call out Kobe in 04'. Except Dirk did a lot better than Kobe.

He made it to the NBA Finals when his sidekicks were freaking Josh Howard and a young Devin Harris, who I might add, shot 49.2% playing alongside Dirk, and is now barely shooting above 40% (40.3%). Josh Howard--well we know how limited he is as a player. Dirk carried those teams on his back. He lost to the Warriors, because Don Nelson blitzed Dirk on every possession. Do you expect Josh Howard to carry the load? How is this Dirk's fault I have no idea.

The only guy ahead of Dirk this decade in the frontcourt is Duncan, and the difference between the two is very small and largely has to do with winning the title with much better talent--in 2005 Manu was the best player on the team in the Finals, and in 2007 it was Tony Parker. The last time Duncan carried his team the way Dirk has all these years was 2003.

The reason you can call Dirk a Choke and while you can't for Kobe.... well...
