The Memphis Grizzlies are Top 5 in the West at this point

Post#1 » by RipCityLives » Sat Jul 24, 2010 8:02 pm

Or better. Check out, they have 3 all star caliber players IMO. Zbo (all star this season), Marc Gasol (potential all star this season) and Rudy Gay franchise player and underrated SF. Good PG rotation in Mike Conley and Jamaal Tinsley. OJ Mayo is a good SG. And they added toughness and experience in Tony Allen. Their frontcourt Randolph-Gasol was the top rebounder in the league. What do you think about the Grizz??? I really think they can be a big surprise this season.

Rudy Gay is overrated. I do like their team though.

They didn't make the playoffs last year and they only added Tony Allen, Xavier Henry, and Grevis Vasquez. Am I missing something?

word is they are trying to move oj to pg.......if he can make that transition with his shooting ability and the fact that he's 6"4 it could be deadly......and if gasol can stay healthy and continue to develop and zach randolph decides he finally wants to d up......yeah they can cause some havoc

1 year more. The experience playing with the same players and coaches should be better. Randolph-Gasol can grow more chemistry. And Mayo-Gay tandem maybe explodes some day....

They also have 7'3 Thabeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!! Any promise for that guy or is he just a bust? I was hoping his first year would just be getting a feel for the pace of the game and second year getting used to it and making some nice plays.

They might just slip into the playoffs, but not top 5. At least not yet.

They can't be top 5 because they're CLEARLY worse than the Lakers, Mavs, Rockets, Blazers, Spurs, Thunder, Jazz, Nuggets, and probably worse than a healthy NO and Phoenix
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Lakers
Mavericks
Spurs
Nuggets
Rockets
Blazers

All are better than the Grizzlies on paper and on the court.
Thank you, Phil.

They'll make the Playoffs but a first round exit is pretty much guaranteed.

+1

I do think we will Mayo grow a lot this year.

Lakers, Thunder, Mavs, Nuggets, Spurs and if Ming is health, the Rockets, are all better than the Griz. However, I do believe that the Griz are a top 8 team.

The griz, clippers, rockets, jazz, blazers and suns will battle for the last 3 spots.

Maybe the 8 seed, but not even close to top 5 in the west.

Memphis actually has 4 all-star caliber players in Gay, Mayo, Gasol and Z-Bo
Also have 6th man of the year candidate Sam Young
Probable MIP award winner Mike Conley
And future DPOY Hasheem Thabeet
Youngest team in the league last year will only get much better
