Once again, Nets and Nuggets have a framework, but Carmelo Anthony needs to be sold. Prokhorov-'Melo meeting could finally happen in L.A

Everyone giving Denver's FO crap will have to eat a lot of crow if they pull that off. That's a major steal. No one would have given up that kind of haul for Bosh in his last half season.
I think Denver slipping to the bottom of playoff contention is spurring this on as well. They're clearly not a contender anymore, and they have a worse record than other teams with less and or injured talent. Time to rebuild regardless.

What makes no sense is Carmelo is doing all this to go to a clearly worse team.

Carmelo would be stupid to sign with NJ, though.

The Nets are (Please Use More Appropriate Word) if they pull the trigger on that. Wow that would be terrible.
And I say that without even considering the fact that Melo could just then walk.

Knicks stay losing. Where is Deron or CP3 going? NYK or NJN?

Am I the only one that doesnt even consider Carmello 'that great'. He's good, but if the Nuggets dont get this deal done that NJ is offering, then i would **** a brick.

i am glad this charade will end next Thursday, i am sick of Melo rumors, Denver FO still with insane demands, and the stupid Nets still wanting a guy who clearly doesnt want to play for them

Man if Melo agrees to go to the Nets than Chris Paul or Deron Williams better be at that meeting as well telling Melo that they are going to New Jersey as soon as they can opt out.

Looks like the Nets know something about Favors that nobody else does.

The point of "selling" melo on the deal is that he has to agree to sign an extension for the trade to be completed.
I assume it would go something like melo agrees to new terms of deal negotiated with the nets (while still employed by denver - with DEN permission of course), signs new deal with "denver", traded to nets in package.
Nets would NOT do this trade if it was a rent-a-player situation.

bet my realgm account that this trade does not go through.
Woj has always been an NJ fanboy, and he ridiculed them the last time prokhov backed out. Nuggets are just making last minute attempt to lure Knicks into thinking that Nets are still front runners for Melo.
At this point even if Melo does go to play for the Nets, Knicks are clearly better and will have the capabilities of being better at any point than the Nets.
Good luck with that team Melo, lol, and isn't NJ discussing Harris deal with Portland, and what about this bit on the wiretap.
Reports have surfaced that the Nuggets and Nets are talking again about a trade to send Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey.
But a source with knowledge of the situation tells Alan Hahn of Newsday that the Nets reemergence is not genuine.
"The Nets are out," the source said.
Hahn writes that the Knicks are not confident that Denver actually knows what it wants from a deal for Anthony and offers his opinion that it is "amateur hour" in the Nuggets' front office.

And why is Woj always making these claims?
