Too much pride from the Lakers.
I could see them pushing it all the way to Game 6 in Dallas.

That man is Dirk Nowitzki. The Lakers have simply had no answer for this guy all series long. He has officially shed his reputation as a choker and has taken command, busting the 2 time defending champs in the mouth for the 3rd game in a row and leaving them on the verge of elimination.
LA is crumbling at the seams. They've lacked focus all season long and its finally coming back to bite them. They're finding that it's not quite as easy to "flip the switch" this time around. They are discombobulated. They don't trust each other. They aren't playing hard. There's no sense of urgency. And they're being exposed.
If somebody had told you beforehand that, out of the Lakers and the Mavericks, one of these teams would blow an 8 point lead late in the 4th quarter, how many people would have thought it would be the LAKERS? Especially in a must win game?
Its just a sign of the times. We're approaching a new age. San Antonio went down. Boston is on the ropes. And now LA is all but gone as well. Its the year of the new. Our new champion will be a team we've either never seen or haven't seen in quite a while. Dallas. OKC. Memphis??? Miami (assuming Boston doesn't come back). Chicago. Atlanta??? Whomever wins this year, we can all say that this is perhaps the most exciting and competitive post season that we have ever seen.
