White is not a race or a country its a SKIN COLOR. Barea is white even if he is from PR, Obama is black even if one of his parents was white, BECAUSE THAT IS THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN.

This will probably blow you kids' minds, but Spain isn't exactly a homogenous country either. A lot of Spanish people also have Moorish blood (North African people that are a mix of sub-saharan African, Arab and indigenous North African) due to the Moors conquering Iberia in the 8th century. They were expelled in the 15th. That's where some of the exoticness of Spanish and Portugal women come from. Granted, there are also Spanish people that couldn't be more "white," due to the fact Spain has been conquered a lot over the centuries by Rome, the Vikings, France, Germany, etc. etc.

Nope. Some of us are just annoyed because certain posters seem to think that "Hispanic" is a race. Physically, he's white (or looks it, and given PR's racial makeup it's likely), culturally, Puerto Rican.

Barea has been great this post-season, don't know whether he's best under 6ft white guy ever.. I don't think it matters either whether he's black or white..

anyway if you count in the ABA this guy could have a case..

His name is José Juan Barea. He has family from León, a Spaniard city.
Pau or Marc are catalonian name (From catalonia, Spain) and they are in diferent language, catalonian.
Pau is Pablo in spanish and Marc is Marcos.
Then Rudy and Ricky aren't spanish names. Their real names are Rodolfo and Ricardo, but they use their names in english because ir "cooler"
