Hate is weird.

1) He isn't going to escape ankle tackles from any DBs or Safetys. LBs in the NFL would wreck him. He has to prove he is NFL strong.
2) He was a standout at HS. So are a lot of other kids that end up being either scrubs in the collegiate level or never make it to the pros. There is a lot more to the position then running fast down a line. High school accolades mean nothing in he real world.
3) He doesn't have the athleticism you probably love that LBJ exudes, but when he is healthy he was a great route runner and decent blocker. Something has to be said of phillip rivers as well though, gates is great, but there is a reason why he got the looks he did. Same with Gresham, LBJ probably would stink up the place unless he was playing along side a QB that could consistently give him great passes.
4) Kind of addressed it in 3.
5) Because being 6'8 250 doesn't mean you are as strong as a guy who is 6'1 and 250. He would get reamed.
6) Posting up smaller players in the NBA is not NFL level contact. Withstanding NBA level flagrant fouls are not NFL level contact.

I don't understand where this hype comes from.

NYcevo, If LBJ's ideal position is TE, he will be matched up against LBs most of the time, and they will get safety help over the top. I don't like the randy moss comparison, you're talking about one of the best route running and set of hands for the deep ball of all time, not to mention deep speed. You seriously think that is a realistic expectation for LBJ if he were to land an NFL gig? Doesn't matter how high you jump unless you can catch the ball in clutch moments while maintaining concentration, and we all know how LBJ performs when the pressure is really on.
