What's so bad about 50/50? Is it just the pride of the players hurting because it used to be 57/43? Times have changed.

Miami at Boston December 1st is a pretty decent seasoning opening night game.
Denver better have a full roster if they are going to be the other half of the doubleheader.

Yeah but they need to get a deal done within the week for that to happen. They'd definitely need a month to get ready for a season.

FWIW, Stephen A Smith reported on ESPN radio that Fisher and Kobe are willing to accept 50%, while other players (KG & Pierce) would not

Why are KG and Pierce suddenly "the voice" of the players? Who the hell do they think they are? Do they know how much money they stand to lose with canceled games vs taking less BRI?

Bit over reactive. You don't even know if that's true.

i think that's pretty accurate..

Something will get done within a week or two. The players will tell Derek Fisher and Hunter that they're ready to cave.

They've made too much progress to throw everything out the window and start over.

I am pretty sure players would take 50/50 if there were no system changes the owners were trying to add on to that. 50/50 with significant system changes is a bad deal, and a HUGE concession from previous negotiations.

Players fought to get the current system, and gave up money to do so. Losing on both the system and the BRI split now would be a double punch to the gut. I still think the owners are putting a bum deal on the table because they know they hold the bigger stick. It's dumb, and as much as I want the season to start, no one should be forced to make a deal because the otherside has no problems whacking you around to get it.

Games are GONE. That money is as good as gone since this whole argument is based on concessions of future income anyway.

players are stupid, they can't grasp the concept of losing future earnings right? They only deal with the right now and right now they aren't feeling anything at all, the only one that's leaking at this moment are the owners.

I don't know how since it seems like the majority of this debate stems from the players looking out of the players of the "future".

i think that's pretty accurate..

2 players aren't influencing 450, come on now.

While I truly do think Billy and Fisher are accommodating the top tier players in this primarily because of agent pressure, if they handed out this deal to the players, it would be ratified, and they know it.

Right now it sits on egos, the feeling of "look at what I made you do".

Even in the lockout people blame KG for everything. Hilarious.

well if you know it's not your best offer and it's a non starter with the other side...stop bringing it up in negotiations

I'm thinking that 5 mil mid-level offer will definitely be something the players would go for, especially considering the owners wanted to scrap it.
