Poll: Question for LAL Fans, Do You Include Gasol If..

Post#1 » by Trader_Joe » Tue Dec 6, 2011 4:37 am

(Editing this thread once again, please vote ONLY if you are a Lakers fan)

...It guarantees you Dwight.

Scenario:
Orlando is down to the final two offers from you and NJ.

NJ lays down their best offer.
Orlando, like it better than the Lakers' original offer, unless the Lakers include Gasol.

They tell you this offer gets it done, but if you do not, they will take the NJ offer.

LAL
Bynum, Gasol, '12 #1(DAL or LAL), Ebanks
for
Howard, Turkoglu, Anderson, Q.Rich

Do you do it?

I'd go with Lakers. Even though it would never happen.

So their offer doesn't need to be in this discussion then probably?

Why in the hell is the Lakers offering that? It completely makes no sense.

As has already been said - Lakers aren't giving up Bynum and Gasol (if they were - it would be a slam dunk deal).

I just don't see much value in a Bynum/Odom package.

Lakers aren't stupid enough to offer that, but that would be the best package.

I think it's still Jersey due to Lopez' health and being a RFA instead of UFA

Are we sure Jersey can't trade Marshon Brooks because he's not signed?

Players can't be amnestied after being traded. So it makes no sense for any team to take Arenas' huge contract. Orlando should amnesty Arenas themselves.

I don't think we know that for sure yet, but I don't think any team wants to pay Arenas $60 to go away, thus Arenas goes to LA since they don't include Gasol and instead offer lesser players.

If the point is these are the only 3 teams in the running, and Orlando can sell to the highest bidder and the point is to win the player you want, Gasol vs. Odom and Arenas vs. Turkoglu are not worth arguing over if the prize is possibly the most important player in the league.

I think the offer is fair right now, and not the best. If is clearly the best, I'll lower it.

How would the Lakers be stupid to offer Gasol and Bynum for Dwight? First, a Dwight/Odom combo is easily the best frontcourt in the league and it's not even close. 2nd, Gasol and Bynum aren't good enough to win the title unless Kobe is a top 5 player in which case having Dwight would still be better.

For those 3 offers you go Nets because the other trades make the Magic eat horrible contracts with Noah+Deng and MWP

I'd go for the Nets deal... Bulls package contains the best group of players but with the Nets offer the Magic can officially blow it up... and their pick will likely be high... the TPE is an asset that makes up for the lack of good players

They are.
The draft is stacked, and other than the Clippers, almost all traded picks are protected for some time before they change.. like the Minny pick. Not many teams have them, but NJ and Chicago do.

It's ridiculous to think otherwise.. that was one of Denver's biggest reasons they wanted to trade with NJ and not Chicago.. asking for 5 1sts at one point, which NJ may have actually had.
