Probably not 'gangsta' enough for those guys.

No, Lasers was a disgrace, especially to Lupe fans.

Anyway, what was Roy's medical history going into the draft?

Comparatively, it was asscheeks. Still a great workout soundtrack though.

When you watch all of the little things he could do and how well he knew the game it was easy to believe he could have still reached mvp level soon.

Yeah, as a biased Blazers fan, I definitely understand where you're coming from.

The last time he was healthy, he was averaging 27/5/5 on 48 FG% shooting in 22 straight games. Take into account that Roy played on the slowest paced team team in the league and you can see just how methodical and efficient he was as a basketball player. He was the Mr. Fundamental of Shooting Guards. Pure old school, get 'em done type of guy.

Also interesting to note is a healthy Roy's PER of 24, which is comparable to Kobe's 23.5 career average. He has also made 40 clutch plays within the last 30 seconds of regulation to either win the game or force overtime. Again, it's my personal bias but I think a healthy Roy is all the Blazers needed to defeat the Mavs, in which they would've had a very good chance of winning the 2011 championship. Oden would've been icing on the cake but in retrospect, the Blazers probably wouldn't have needed Oden if Roy were healthy.

And the part I still can't get over is that we'll never even get to see his prime.

man i remember like it was yesterday when roy made his first all star appearance back in '08 in just his second season. he had the potential to be one of the greatest SGs ever to have play, all cut short by knee injury. :( farewell brandon, you will be missed.

The two people I knew would be superstars when they were drafted... Chris Paul and Brandon Roy. Brandon Roy just had it. And it's sad that he can no longer play. I'd take a healthy Brandon Roy over a healthy Kobe in their primes. That's how much I feared BRoy facing my team. I still hate Isiah Thomas for trading away unprotected picks for a fat slob like Eddy Curry.
