I'm sure some team under the cap will pick him up. GM's are going to see his size and hope they can transform him into a productive player.

As a Heat fan, do not want. I'm not impressed by his game. There are a ton of tall guys that absolutely suck that have came in and out of the league.

how do these 7'4 freaks of nature suck so badly at basketball?

isn't a 7'4 guy playing in the NBA basically the equivilent to the rest of us playing on a nerf hoop? im just talking size-wise obviously not competition or conditioning or anything like that.

I'm sure someone will pick him up. Guys that are 7 foot 3 and relatively mobile dont grow on trees. Shame he hates this game called basketball.

No need for the green font really with this one ;)

And to think people were hard on Araujo. At least he finished his rookie contract in the league.

Pacers should pick him up so Roy Hibbert can practice shooting over someone bigger than him.

Makes you wonder why the rockets bothered picking up his option. Smooth $5 million mistake there.

The Grizzlies picked up his 3rd year option last October. His 4th year option is still pending, so if this is true then obviously it will be declined.

And yeah, it's pretty pathetic to get amnestied while on your rookie scale contract. I would say that is worse than getting your 3rd year option on a rookie scale contract declined.

Thabeet is not like Shawn Bradley, imo. I saw thabeet dominate on defense at uconn. I dont see how he just loses those skills. Usually defense translates to the NBA. Unless you are like 6-8 and were only good in college because there were no real big men. Then get to the NBA and are undersized. But this guy is 7-3, he's the tallent player in the league with great defensive skills and timing as a shot-blocker.

I think he just hasn't found the right team yet. And with Ben Wallace coming back, I think he would have the best chance to develop his defensive talents here more than anywhere. The Pistons know how to develop defensive big men, with Rodman and Wallace being 2 of the best ever. Not every team knows what to do with an offensively challenged defensive big man.

Does anyone know how the bidding process works? Any links explaining the details?

This information is not correct.

As of right now, Thabeet has not been amnestied.

Eh, for a few mil a year he's worth a shot. It's just getting drafted #2 and getting paid a ton of money that kills his value, really.

Yes. He'll fit right in with our other Euros: Barbosa, Magloire and Alabi

Thabeet is terrible. I don't know why anyone would consider picking him up.
