We don't know if more teams made a bid for Billups.NBA doesnt leak this info,but one "expert" in twitter(can't remember who exactly) said that multiple teams tried to claim him.

Also something to keep in mind if they claim Davis don't think have to keep him for the length of his contract? So Davis has two years left which mean he will be on the team and books for two years instead of 1 year like Billups is with the Clippers? So teams looking for cap space next year where there are suppose to be a ton of free agents will not be claiming Davis.....

Is that correct?

Barons had that back problem from his years in Charlotte/NO. I wouldn't be surprised if he sits out the year.

Unless they gave him a headsup that he be cut, the back problems were reported at least a week in advance of the amnesty.
Certainly could be exaggerating the issue though. Prior to letting him go all the Cavaliers were saying is that they didn't know the extent and he was seeking a second opinion from a specialist.

I think he ends up on the Lakers whether he's faking or not.

The Lakers have been paying attention to him and it wouldn't be a surprise given that their current offense is more or less what Baron was best at (no triangle, basic sets, and transition ball).
