I always loved ray allen. The epitome of professionalism. Always a classy guy, and a proven winner. I hope he continues playing like this.

Can't help but feel that, with the compressed schedule, Jesus might actually benefit.

Think about it, with having so many games in such little time, he'll never have a chance to cool off.

If you can catch a live Celtics game, I highly recommend getting there early so you can watch Ray Allen warm up.

The guy can probably make open shots well into his 90s. Shooting for him is like breathing air.

The rest of his game has declined significantly though.

The most amazing thing about Ray's shooting numbers so far is the degree of difficulty on some of his shots. He's had his fair share of open 3's in transition, but a lot of them have been the heavily contested while falling out of bounds variety. Money on the off-the-dribble pull-up as well.

it really isn't that difficult to do when your job is to stay behind the 3 point line.

ray allen is a pure shooter and having a true PG in Rondo doesn't hurt either.

You think Ray just stands at the three-point line and waits for the ball to come to him? Have you watched him play - ever? I mean, if he just stood at the three-point line and spotted up, do you think any defenders would ever leave him? It isn't like the C's have a dominant post presence in the middle that can allow them to play inside-out.

Yup uses screens and runs around the court like a mad man, tirelessly. Rip does that too. UCONN! I can see Lamb doing the same thin in the NBA.

i didn't think it was necessary for me to say he uses screens, since everyone knows that's what he does.

It's weird, even considering his advanced age, Jesus is a player that ANY team would love to have.

Hell, I'm sure even we Laker fans would.

I'll probably never get the chance, so what does he do? I'm very curious.

I love watching warm-ups. Best warm-up player I ever saw was Hakeem Olajuwon. No joke. He was out there about an hour early, before everyone else, and would spin the ball to himself at the very top of the key/three point line. Then he would do the craziest whirling dervish spin/dribble moves I have ever seen all the way down to the hoop for a layup or a mini-fadeaway.

He did that for 15 minutes or so. Not sure how the guy didn't fall down from dizziness. It was spectacular to watch. He had great handles and knew exactly where he was on the court at all times even though he was spinning like a top.

Go Allen! I'm 34 now and haven't been able to dunk since I tore my groin muscle playing when I was 21. (And hell yeah it was painful! Was playing pickup on an outdoor court against Willie Middlebrooks, if you know who that is.) I have a soft spot for aging veterans.

He and Reggie are so similar in so many ways.

Both legends of fitness. Hopefully Ray can play till he's 40 just like Reggie did at a high level.

Ray is literally OCD, and his compulsion is workouts. He's inhumanly dedicated to physical fitness, which is a big part of why he is capable of continuing to play as well as he does. The team context doesn't hurt either, but damn.

I fully expect him to play until he's 40+
