Lakers willing to Part with Pau and Bynum?

Post#1 » by jewellalw » Wed Jan 11, 2012 4:36 am

New York Daily News:

The Nets’ hopes of acquiring Howard via a trade were compromised when Brook Lopez suffered a broken foot. The Mavs’ best chance to acquire Howard would be to sign him over the summer. But if the Magic elect to trade its franchise center before the March deadline, the Lakers may be the best option because they have Andrew Bynum.

Bynum does have a history of injury problems but there is talk of the Lakers trying to work the same three-team deal with the Magic that they nearly pulled off with the Hornets for Paul. The trade would include the Lakers’ Pau Gasol heading to Houston and the Rockets sending Luis Scola, Kevin Martin and of course Bynum to Orlando for Howard.

No from Lakers.

If we are sending Gasol away, we better be getting Scola+Lowry back.

If this is worded correctly, then Scola + Martin go to Orlando. I'll pass, I want at least Scola back if Pau has to go.

If the Rockets want Pau so bad, why don't the Lakers just deal him directly there and get back Scola and Lowry?

IMO, Lowry/Kobe/Barnes/Scola/Bynum is better than Fisher/Kobe/Barnes/???????/Dwight.

This trade works in the trade checker:

Lakers get: Dwight howard, Ryan Anderson, and Turkoglu
Magic get: Bynum and Gasol

Great trade for both sides if you ask me. No need for rockets.

Inb4 Magic fans start crying that they won't give up both Dwight & Ryan Anderson. Anderson is their future I guess.

I'd rather keep Gasol/Bynum and try to get a PG with the TPE than trade both Gasol/Bynum for Howard

I am all for Dwight Howard, being the best C in the league, but honestly I think I and most Laker fans are over with the novelty of Dwight coming to L.A.

Yep....anything out of New York is pretty much lies and unfounded garbage.

why would Orlando want Scola when they have Glen Davis and Ryan Anderson? One of them would have to go to LA with Howard.

Scola would be a nice PF with Howard, but I doubt the Lakers part ways with Gasol and Bynum

What!? With Howard you don't need Scola!

What are you talking about!?

You don't need him with Kobe and Howard. You are fine with McRoberts and a stretch 4. Lamar Odom would have been the perfect guy to keep in that scenario but they moved him.

But no you don't need Scola. Scola can't guard Blake Griffin! That is the perfect deal right there... McRoberts and Metta World Peace are just fine.

If I were the Lakers I would ask for Ryan Anderson in return but they will give Hedo Turkgolu to the Lakers instead. That is enough...
