Channing Frye also said Kobe is the best individual player in the world last night.

I don't know that this deserves its own thread though. There's tons of threads about kobe.

In any event, Lebron is #1 and Kobe is #2 so far this season. I think pretty much everyone agrees. Could change, though. Kobe could go 2-30 and he'll be a bum again.

This one. Before the season started ESPN did a ranking of all the players in the league.

These rankings are garbage, but they're the perfect thing to motivate fellas like Kobe.

and when Lebron , Rose or Wade score 40 on the Suns Nash will say they are the best. Doubt Nash cares at all about who is the best or not, he is just not going to say anything that will start some **** and this thread is totally worthless.

Arguable how? This season he's second in PER, Second in value added, Second in wins added, second in scoring, leading his team to the top of the Pacific.

What planet are you on?

Sigh.... Kobe is taking 4 more shots this season and playing more minutes per game, while shooting on worse efficiency as well, one thing I like about Kobe this season is he's getting close to 6apg as well.

bigger players always win 1 on 1, i don't care about how fast they are or how skill they are.

1) taller players have a better chance of blocking shot when play 1 on 1 (aka no one to pass to, you have to go up when you're under the basket).

2) As fast as some of the guys are, they can't blow pass the big all the time and get to the basket, or rather the big is gonna give them air space to shoot, you're talking about 1 player shooting jumper all day VS another one who'll shoot right under the basket.

1 on 1 is a totally different game than 5 on 5.

Kobe is #2 in PER. #2 in Wins added. #2 in Value Added. #2 in Points PER game.

So far, as compared to the rest of the league, this might be Kobe's best season ever.

I really don't understand what's the big deal. It's not like scoring 48 points is a big accomplishment to a great scorer like Kobe. On 30 shots, mind you. It's like above average efficiency, nothing special, really. What does that prove? Nothing. I bet he had numerous 40 points games last season, without looking it up. The guy will score on 20 year olds in the gym at 45, that's what he does. Probably doesn't change the possible outcome that the Lakers aren't going anywhere in the playoffs if he keep continue to ignore his bigs.

Disclaimer: I don't know if he's the best, but he's definitely top two right now.

Here is a fun fact for you, Kobe scored the ball more efficiently...wait for it... In all of his 15 seasons prior that! His usage rate on the other hand will never been higher. Kobe's best season ever? You guys are hilarious.

I don't think players get old. I think the fans and media declare them old and washed up. But Kobe is still bad. Thank god

I absolutely guarantee you that if Rose had an 18 for 31 game, almost nobody would quibble with how many shots he took.

Well obviously nobody does because Bulls fans aren't insecure and don't need to post countless threads about their team or stars on the GB.

Insecure? You mean like the guy who brought Rose (who is phenomenal, BTW) into the thread in the first place?
