How much higher can it go? Everyone knows what he's capable of doing and not doing. Its not like hell add something to his game by the all-star break.

look im not a fan of the lakers especially after game 6 2002, 2010 against celtics (game 7) refs helped em out.

BUT

lakers are experienced.
All they need to do is get into the playoffs thats all.

They need shooters, it's not that complicated. Even with Steve Blake and a SF that can hit the 3 and defend they'd do well enough. It's such a poorly constructed team.

Kobe is a PF masquerading as a SG right now. He can't dribble the basketball. Heck that's why this was a triangle team. In the triangle offense you don't dribble much at all. If run properly it's a wonderful offense but for some odd reason Jimmy hated it.

I actually don't think the Lakers have dropped off that much but when you have a new coach, new system, and cut back on players, this is what happens. I think the Lakers need to make a move because they have lost that spark they once had.

At least they aren't Boston though who hasn't been the same mentally since the Perkins trade. Everyone knew that trade would cripple Boston and it did.

It's not a spark. It's floor balance and a lack of any creating capability of the bench. If the floor was spread in the starting unit and the bench had someone to create when Kobe is out of the game, they'd be fine but they don't.

If they can make their comeback with Jason Kapono playing heavy minutes imagine what they could do with decent players out there. There's such a drop off after Gasol in talent, it's horrendous. Their next best player is Steve Blake.

Well thats a completely different situation. The Lakers are learning a whole new offensive system. They've run the triangle forever so getting used to this, in a "shortened" pre-season and training year isn't easy and is showing now. But the Celtics is just because they're old. Theres not a new coach, a new offense, a ton of new players. Its just simple they're old and don't have a lot left. Blowing them up is the only option they really have left.

I just don't understand why the Lakers aren't shopping Gasol for a very good point guard.

A good PG would change the lakers completely 360.

Don't ask me who the lakers should target because I have no clue really.

Complete random idea but Gasol for Lowry & Scola?

Wouldn't a 360 just point them right back where they are? I think they'd hope for a 180.

+1. No way Rockets will do that, Lowry is the heart of their team. Gasol isn't a big enough upgrade over Scola to justify it.

Lets see how Darius Morris goes throughout the season. I reckon they've got something here, regardless of the fact he hit a 50 foot buzzer beater. Fisher ain't getting any younger, he's gonna retire this season or the next.

Maybe it's time Kobe leads a couple of young guys to a title. I can imagine him ripping Michael Beasley, Wes Johnson, and Anthony Randolph into what they should have always been.

Maybe Kobe should dump the ball down in the post a LOT more. I mean damn. He's got 2 of the best big men in the league shooting at high percentages and he's shooting too much on less than optimal efficiency.

Brown needs to grow some balls and make sure that offense runs inside out. Kobe would get his SO much easier if teams had to pay more attention to the low post.

I wonder if Kobe is going to figure this out in time to really add anything major to his legacy besides individual statistical accomplishments.
