Looks to me like the NHL was key here. Seems like a great fit for hockey. I'm surprised they haven't been there for 20-30 years instead of trying Atlanta... twice

Do they need to finish building before they can buy the franchise and then when the building is done they can have all the sonics history? OR do they need to be playing there next year to get all the sonics history (this is they get it without having to pay to buy it back).

If the Hornets or Kings win the lottery this season it'll be the biggest reason for rigged draft rumors ever!

I hope they get a team just for the atmosphere of a Sonic vs. Thunder game.

I have a question to people more familiar with this - Is there a financial incentive for OKC to have the Sonics rights? Is it just about the records and history, or do they get royalties or something for Sonics material. If it's just the records I can't imagine the incentive for OKC to troll Seattle by not giving it them

Except the thunder will kill them (if they get either: Kings, Hornets or Bobcats) each time they play.

but sure for the first 5-10 minutes you'd hear a lot of animosity when they play in seatle lol.

You would think they get royalties for each Jersey/memorabilia they sell. I am pretty sure each team gets a cut of sales on there team's merchandise. OKC own the sonics so it makes sense the money goes to them, plus Clay is a douche bag for how he handled the situation, I wouldn't be surprised if he is a douchebag about this one either.

I feel for New Orleans. But...

Move them to Seattle, let them become the Sonics (with Seattle's history), and have them switch divisions with the Thunder.

Meanwhile, give Charlotte the Hornets name/history back, and things look ok.

I'd love to see the Hornets return, but I think the Bobcats are here to stay.

Michael Jordan obviously has personal ties to North Carolina. He's not moving or selling his team to Seattle.

It would have to be the Kings or the Hornets. I'm sure Seattle would be happy to have whatever
