Team w/ best chance to beat Miami in a 7 game series?

Post#1 » by cs hauser » Wed Feb 22, 2012 2:14 am

Miami is playing as well, or better than, anybody in the NBA right now.

But which team has the best chance of beating them in a 7-game playoff series?

Chicago

I'd say Oklahoma City but i think they turn the ball over far too frequently to be able to handle the Heat.

1) Chicago
2) OKC
3) Knicks (if they mesh well. They have the pieces to do it)

The bulls have the best chance. However the reality is that no one is going to beat them in a 7 game series this year.

This. Only the heat playing below themselves. People will say the Thunder because of the firepower they have but their turnovers and no defense will be their undoing against the heat.

Clippers.

Surprised so many people are saying Chicago. What exactly has changed from last year? Lebron will guard Rose, shut him down, and now the Heat can put Battier on Deng instead of having a possible match-up problem guarding Deng.

I don't think the Bulls have a shot in hell of beating Miami.

The Bulls beating Miami? LOL!

The only team that can beat the Heat is the Heat.

And maybe the Knicks.

The Mavs know how to. They also have the swagger to do so. I bet no Western Conference team would be more confident facing the Heat than they would be, and no coach would be better prepared to gameplan against them.

On the flipside, the Heat have the experience of a 7 game series against them too so it's possible they've learned a lot and would be better prepared for them than for any other team. Also they could be just a little more fired up against them than against any other team too. But they could also be a bit more worried about them than about the other teams.

I'm picking the Mavs, mainly for the mental edge. I think most other teams just collapse under the Heat's pressure, or simply aren't good enough to withstand them. Spurs is my second choice. Bulls third. Teams without a brilliant coach are toast.

I'd say Oklahoma City. Durant and Westbrook are capable of matching LeBron and Wade on any given night. Ibaka is a beast in the lane with the way he alters shots.

I don't think Chicago has enough offensive fire-power.
