What was Shaq's real weight throughout the years ?

He started out pretty ripped as a rookie and I think he was listed at around 300lbs. During his prime on the Lakers he bulked up considerably but he wasn't fat. Then he turned into a fat ass, slimmed down a little, back to a fatass, slimmed down again, etc. And the whole time his listed weight barely changed. He's listed last as 325lbs. I'm really interested in knowing what his weight was throughout his career, especially his prime during that Lakers run. And when he turned into a fat ass, do you think he ever got up to 400lbs ? At his height I don't think it's that unlikely.

Isn't he supposed to be "the world's largest athlete"? So he's probably 7 feet and well over 500 pounds!!

I tried to lift him once when he came to our school.
At this stage I could quite comfortably squat lift a friend who was 210lb.
Could barely get Shaq off the ground, so I'm guessing at the LEAST 350lb.

Los Angeles Times - Oct 7, 1999
Whatever Coach Phil Jackson's requested weight for Shaquille O'Neal was, the center did not meet it--probably didn't even come close--when the Lakers were weighed after the morning practice Wednesday at UC Santa Barbara.
"The more I lift weights, the higher the number's going to be," O'Neal said. "I'm not really concerned about numbers. . . . I'll bust any big man's butt no matter what I weigh."
"I'm not unhappy about it," Jackson said. "He's shown he's in condition out there on the floor. That's the major goal, the guy's in condition so he can get up and down the court."
O'Neal, who has added muscle on his shoulders, said he came in at 340 pounds.
Orlando Sentinel - Oct 31, 1999
He is bigger than ever now, a solid 340 pounds (at least 10 pounds heavier than last season) and has a Hungry Man appetite that demands immediate satisfaction.
Washington Times - October 8, 2003
With the help of a personal trainer, O’Neal has shed 35 pounds and revealed one of the closely guarded secrets of the NBA, which is his exact weight. He reported to the team’s training camp in Hawaii at 345 pounds, down from his playing weight of 380 last season.

^During '02 playoffs he was 382.
Sporting News - Jun 3, 2002
Heck, one scout says O'Neal weighed in at 382 before the playoffs, which would make him the heaviest athlete in major professional sports.
Denver Post - Jun 9, 2002
Shaq reportedly weighed in at 382 before the playoffs. Lew Alcindor aka Kareem Abdul-Jabbar reported to his first NBA training camp at 235. All of which begs the question: Why are all those other NBA teams chasing Chinese players when they ought to be scouting Japanese sumo wrestlers?...
Random thought du jour: You know the Nets are in trouble when they double-team Shaq and they're still at a weight disadvantage.

Wouldn't be surprised. He actually looked more in shape in his later years than he did on some of the years he spent in LA

I don't care what his weight was he was never fat just a big, strong, muscled, dominant, glistening man.
