I'm not even a Pacers fan so it doesn't bother me at all but is the official NBA site wrong?

http://www.nba.com/standings/team_recor ... g_Cnf.html

That says that they are 16-14 against .500+ teams. The only other teams in the east to have a winning record against winning teams is Chicago and Miami. NY, Philly and Atlanta have bad records and Boston and Orlando are both 3 games under .500 against winning teams. Indiana is doing a lot better than most of the east is doing against the better teams.

Edit: But you all have the schedule and the records for each games. Maybe that .500+ isn't what I thought? I don't usually worry much about that so I could be way off. Or maybe the official site is what their records were at the time they played and the rest of you are doing the records they have now? I'm a little confused.

This could be the case.

 Barely hanging on to the 8th seed and Knick fan is back talking ****. Just like old times....

Same tired rhetoric lol. 13-4 under Woodson. You can hate them all you want, but the Knicks are a playoff threat witht he way they've been playing. The Pacers, once again, are pretenders. I doubt there's a team in the league that is afraid of playing them in the playoffs. They're.....not impressive.

How about you guys worry about clinging onto even getting into the playoffs before you worry about beating better teams than the Knicks. Knicks aren't getting out of the first round whether it's Indy, Chicago, Atlanta or Miami.

Then again Knicks fans should be well acquainted with losing in the first round despite Carmelo pouring in huge numbers.

Riiighhhtt because the Knicks have to be very worried about making the playoffs with they've been playing and how great the Sixers have been  If we play the Pacers, we'll win in 5. Stop kidding yourself. Pacers need to be praying that the Knicks don't get the 6h seed.

The Pacers had an excellent record under Vogel last year as well and got in the playoffs the same way that the Knicks did this year.

The Knicks are a playoff threat but 7 out of 8 teams in the East are threats. The Sixers are the only team that I cannot consider a threat at the moment.

The Pacers are not pretenders.

Edit: And they're prove it in the playoffs :D

They played better than an 8th seed. People were laughing at the Bulls because the Pacers kept the playoffs series close, but they have shown they were better than an 8th seed this year. Now they're the 3rd seed with largely the same team plus a few additions.

Vogel was not the coach during the whole season, Jim O'brien was the coach for at least half the season.

Vogel's record was good.

And my god, some knicks fans are DELUSIONAL.

Talking crap about the pacers when their team has done absolutely nothing to feel like they are a playoff threat. Hey, at least the pacers won a game last year in the playoffs, buddy, are are 37-22, which is a pretty good record.

JOB was coaching for half of last year. JOB was 17 - 27. Vogel was 20 - 18 with the same team. That's a definite improvement and he was the sole reason that the Pacers made the playoffs last year.

Just checked Vogel's record last year, pretty respectable 20-18, considering the team had a 17-27 record prior to his insertion as a head coach.

Well, I thought he had a better record so it's quite fair to say that it was "excellent" as I thought. Respectable is the right word, indeed.

With their win against Milwaukee tonight, the Pacers are now 8-1 in the month of April -- the best record in the NBA.

What's particularly impressive about the Pacers organization is that they created a #3 seed team without the benefit of any lucky breaks in the lottery or a market to lure big name free agents.

Granger: 17th pick
Hibbert: 17th pick
George: 10th pick
Collison: 21st pick
Hansbrough: 13th pick
Hill: 26th pick

Actually, the last time we had a draft pick in the single digits was 23 years ago.

Ha!

Pacers would get obliterated by the Knicks in a 7 game series. They got blown out in back to back games by the Knicks and were getting blown out by 15 in the last one until we got lazy and they took advantage.

I'd say Knicks in 5 and that's me being generous.

Roy Hibbert is a big reason why the Pacers will have the 3th best record in the East, but IMO he is also a big reason why we struggle in certain matchups. Add a point guard who can pass the ball and I think the Pacers will have a really hard time to beat such a team in the playoffs this year.

Not saying there aren't any other reasons, but the Collison/Hibbert tandem defending the pick and roll is one of them. If you want to compete without a superstar, you need to have a top 3 defense for starters.
