Kobe needs 38 pt for scoring title

Kobe needs to score 38 pts tomorrow night against the Kings to win the scoring title. The Lakers have clinched the 3rd seed and will have nothing to play for. If you're Kobe, would you play in this meaningless game and shoot for the scoring title or do you rest for the playoffs that starts this weekend?

Kobe missed 7 games and is pretty rusty. He needs to play to get back into game shape. So he has a good excuse to play. I say he should go for it. Great entertainment value for the NBA.

I am having flash backs to when Mike Brown DNP'd Ilgauskas when he was about to break that record for the Cavs.
I don't trust Brown, all Laker fans can do is pray Kobe plays and guns for the title.
38 is weak sauce for Mamba though, in his sleep.

Yes.
If David Robinson felt a need to score 72 or whatever it was to get it, I don't doubt other players would for it. 38 is not much for Kobe.

Kobe has scored at least 38pts this season 7 times in 58 games and the last time he played the Kings, it was March 2nd and he shot 13 for 24 for exactly 38pts. Coincidence?

Looked rusty the past two games (until heating up late in the OKC game) so I'd like to see him play tomorrow. But I don't want him over-exerting himself for this title, we're focused on winning another title. #Six

I see that Sacramento is tied with, or within one game of, several other teams. That means they have every incentive to tank, right? If so, they might not put up much resistance.

The Kings give up 104.6pt per game which is by far the worst in the league. There is not a better team to play against if you're Kobe.

He won't go for it. I guarantee it.
This scoring title thing has taken on a life of its own and I'm not sure why. Durant can have it if he wants. Kobe has other things to worry about. Admittedly, the all time scoring lists. But with the playoffs within days, I highly doubt that's a top priority for him right now.
