Why isn't there more interest in <insert your guy here>?

My guy is Paul Millsap. I've seen numerous threads on the trade forum asking what teams would give up for Paul Millsap and the return is almost always poor. Folks around here just don't think he's worth anything of value. I mean they like him, would give up some middling 1sts for him. But, he's never in the conversation for a really good player.
I think he should have higher value. He's been the Jazz's best player for a couple years now. His game has no weaknesses. His contract is short and reasonable. He's only 27 years old, so just in the early part of his prime. He's even show the ability to play 2 positions.
Why can't folks get excited about Paul Millsap?
And if you answer that you can tell me about the guy on your team that seems to be in the same mold.

He's also at best a 3rd option on a championship team. If he played in a bigger market he'd the get the attention he deserves, but even then, it wouldn't be that much..

Because people only care about stars now, not teams or basketball. Lets just get Vince McMahon to succeed David Stern as commish...

Why no interest in Paul Millsap? Mediocre defender, 27 puts him at the late side of his prime, is realistically a solid 4th option on a championship team, and plays arguably the most stacked position in the league.

Every team in the league would love to have someone like Millsap. When Lakers and Jazz few years back met in the playoff, it's pretty much guaranteed that Millsap was going to own Odom (until Boozer came in and screwed everything up for them

).
I think the lack of interest is mainly due to Utah asking too much for him. As great as he is, he's very undersized for a 4 and that creates a bunch of problem on the defensive side. Utah's best bet is actually to pacakage him with another good player for a legit all star, not to trade him by himself.

I'm a raptor fan...
Needless to say there really shouldn't be any interest in any of our players with perhaps the exception of the Jonas kid coming over next year.
That being said I like Ed Davis. He seems to box out and has pretty good positioning.

John Wall- He's a big name but gets very little coverage being on such a bad team - -but the guy has tons of talent - -most athletic PG in the league along with Westbrook & Rose - put him on a good team with a good coach and he has the potential to be scary good

I am not sure this characterization is correct. The reason I'm not sure is that I have 2 young kids and very rarely get to watch Jazz games anymore. At least not for more than 5 minutes at a time. But, I have never known Millsap to be creating problems defensively.
The only player I saw that I thought abused him a bit this year was Dirk. And that was just with high degree of difficulty jump shots. I'm guessing that Dirk abuses about any PF in the league if they leave him alone on an island like we did with Millsap.
But, I'm going to have an open mind on the issue. Can you tell me who has abused Millsap this year? Or forced the Jazz into defensive problems due to Millsap? Are you basing your characterization on games you've seen or simply basing it off his listed height.
Got an open mind here, make your best argument, maybe I'll agree with you.

If we're talking about the topic at hand my pick would be Peter John Ramos 7'3

I'd be very interested in John Wall if I thought he could be had. I just would guess the asking price would be 'We wouldn't trade him to you for your entire team'.
Maybe I'm wrong.

Actually I'm not kidding at all. Why isn't there more interest for a 7'3 280 lb 26 year old Center?

Hard to say. At the beginning of the season wiz fans were absolutely on board with trading him... Then he dominated in February and people were eating crow... Then when JoCrawford was inserted into the starting line up, Wall struggled again and people were open to trading him again... Then JC went out with an injury and Wall finished the season extremely strong so who knows what management is thinking. I wouldn't necessarily consider him untouchable.

Because he already had a shot in the NBA and couldn't even get playing time in the D League.
