Austin Rivers had 10 points and a couple of steals in about 25 minutes and 6 shots playing the two guard in place of Eric Gordon on Sunday. He looked very quick, the surgery on his bone spurs that took him out of the summer league seems to have really helped.

Anthony Davis had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 23 minutes. I would say he looked just about how you would expect. Very quick, very agile, and a great ability to contribute while not being featured. 3 of his rebounds were offensive, and you can really start to see how he does a good job staying around the rim.

Strange game as Austin scored the first point half way through the first quarter with the hornets down 10-0 already. The Hornets didn't have Eric Gordon, and average 24 years old, and they looked it. Very tight in the first preseason game. Things settled down just in time for everyone to come out for good in the third quarter.

I was very pleased with Davis and Rivers, not so pleased with Robin Lopez and others.

Hornets play at home tonight against the Bobcats and I would expect a good game for the young guys in front of a home crowd.

Rockets first game is tomorrow against OKC.

We'll get to see the Rockets play the Hornets twice this preseason, which will put Austin Rivers up agianst Jeremy Lamb, which should be fun for the board.

i also like the T ross pick, but mostly because it allowed the pistons to grab AD1. Also its preseason, not going to get too hyped up, then again piston's haven't played. i think Ross was a good pick, but they need to do seomthing with DD

We were kept out of this thread last season because we had no rookies so most of us are anxious to join in on this again, to the dismay of the rest of RealGM though

I don't think this just because of this particular game, but I really do believe picking Waiters was a terrible mistake by Cleveland.

Waiters looks undersized and his shot release is pretty slow, it's going to be tough for him to really get his perimeter game going against NBA defenders.

His slashing game better be all it was hyped to be, though his length is fairly average which certainly won't help finishing at the rim.

Waiters didn't play well, but was only in the game 14 minutes. He played well last night though. I think he and Kyrie need to be in the game more together, it would open things up for him. He did have 3 assists though.

Tony Wroten doesn't look like a basketball player. I never understood the obsession with this guy.

I wish I was watching the game. I have two streams for it but I get nothing from either one.

I just got home from the hospital, I check the box score.....And I'm highly disappointed. Dion was playing like a beast yesterday...Also why Is Bscott only giving him 14 mins? everyone on realgm has every right to dog us today. Because this performance kinda puts doubts in one's head(Including mine).

Ezeli is going to be a beast.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Davis should learn that he's not a Dirk Nowitzki shot selection wise. Taking more shots at the rim would be optimal.
