Barnes lighting it up in Atlanta. He just likes playing the Hawks. He's got 15 and is 3/3 from three. He had 19 the first time they played Atlanta.

I mean, it's not like DET and Frank are doing anything out of the ordinary to highlight him on the court besides a couple ally-hoop plays - basically what he's getting offensively is him showing strong, being the athletic freak that he is, and gobbling offensive rebounds, and in general playing on raw physical/athletic talent.

He could very well have done that with the Kings or any other team in the league for that matter, as I doubt he'd get any plays called for him with us either being the same garbage man role he's doing for DET, which helps him highlight his current strengths and hide the weaknesses.

Boy how wrong was I about this kid, and how different he looks from collage.

I dunno, the big difference between Drummond now and Drummond in college is confidence. He was playing absolutely lethargic in UCONN, and right now he's looking like he's on top of the world. For better or worse Detroit is an organization that really guts it out with their young guns. I don't think Jason Maxiell, Austin Daye, and Rodney Stuckey would have lasted as long as they have if they were with any other team. As an organization they have confidence in their younger guys, and I believe that's what's enabling Drummond to play like this.

Nice post , and yes, detroit is preaching patients and its coming from the top down. Dre is literally a teenager, like a big kid mentally. i would hate to think of what his career would be like if cousins was his mentor. The SAC situation isn't the ideal place for players that are easily influenced.

He had a stretch from the end of the 3rd to the middle of the 4th that was absolutely unbelievable. He was dominating on both ends. Hopefully someone can post a youtube vid of it. I personally would love to see it again and others should too. Hes fun to watch

To be fair, I think just about anyone is a bad fit on Sacramento. I think they are good at finding talent (Cousins, Evans), and absolutely horrible at fitting together to form a team. It makes everyone involved look bad.

Look at their personnel, and try to find a starting line-up that works. It is practically impossible. They have 4 PGs (Thomas, Brooks, Thornton, and Jimmer), none of which really create with the ball. They don't really have a great SF. What they need is a good defensive center that can guard the biggest players in the league to balance the weaknesses of Cousins and Robinson, but they have Chuck Hayes (who isn't necessarily a bad player, but a really bad fit).

All of their primary scorers are ball-dominant, which is another problem. You don't see a lot of pick-n-roll or other offball movement to create easier shots, and that really hurts Robinson in particular as a rookie that doesn't get a lot of touches. Should also mention that they were last in assists last year, for a reason.

These traits, along with several others, make it very hard to utilize the Kings line-up. The skills just don't mesh. Robinson would look a lot better next to a tall defensive center and a PG with decent passing abilities. Of course, so would most players. He's just in a situation where his few NBA-level skills are not being utilized and his weaknesses exposed, but the same thing could be said of the entire Kings roster.

He single handedly kept Detroit in the game while he was in in the 3rd/4th quarter. He needs to move into the starting spot. Pistons bias aside, I think he's easily one of the most intriguing rookies in the class. He could be that rare dominant C that hasn't come into the league since Dwight.

Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, Damian Lillard are looking like top 3 players from the draft thus far and Harrison Barnes has really impressed me as of late. These guys could be stars and there are still a lot of role players in the 12 draft too. Its looking really good for the 2012 draft.
