Kobe is obviously a Hall of Famer. He was the best player on two championship teams. Shaq was the best player on the other three. And if you are American you were happy he was on the court when the USA played Spain in the final this past summer.

But is Kobe a top 10 player? Yes but I think he's #10 and will likely be supplanted by Lebron by the time Lebron is said and done.

LeBron entered the NBA at 18, so yes, he will pass Kobe. It's just an accomplishment of a talented offensive scorer playing a lot of games.

It's not the same accomplishment as Jordan or Wilt... those guys did it in a lot less games/seasons. The dominance they displayed was on a whole different planet. Kobe doesn't have that... he reached it by playing a lot more games, yet some Laker fans want to make it sound awe inspiring like if the accomplishment is the same as Jordan's or Wilt's. It isn't.
