No, this team struggles so hard, it's hard for them to make to the playoffs this season

so if dwight does elect to have surgery, how long will he be out?...he is getting re-examined next Tuesday i believe. that will determine if they make the playoffs or not.

Well, I don't think that's a very realistic scenario, but from a fan perspective, I think it would be nice to see a team that underachieved and was expected to be great right away get rocked and mocked all throughout the regular season, finish out the season strong and then come together and win against the odds.

I disliked the heat strongly the season they lost to the Mavs. I felt that there was too much 1v1, iso action on the perimeter and I didn't respect them as a team, in terms of chemistry and identity. There identity was 3 great players, and a bunch of decent players.

Fast forward to last year's finals, and even though I was rooting for the Thunder, as a basketball fan I could help but appreciate and respect the way they played. Now when I think of the Heat, I think of a team with an identity. Not just LBJ/Wade/Bosh(although they are obviously vital to the team's success). I feel the same way about the Lakers right now. No identity/chemistry. It would be great to see them develop some.

Rehab after getting surgery for a torn Labia is usually around 3-4 weeks.
It should take Dwight approx. 6-8 weeks

When he is back though will there be enough time for the Lakers to go on run? Like a 20 game winning streak? :)
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.

What's the point of tanking when the Suns own their 1st rounder if its in the lottery?

Lakers will actually need a 30 game winning streak from end of January the way they are going....

They don't deserve to make the playoffs. The team is riddled with flaws, of course David Stern might feel the urge to "spice" up story lines and bring the Lakers back from nothing.

For NBA fans it's better they don't make the playoffs. This organization needs a reboot starting from the headcoach. Mike D'Antoni is a joke

The 02/03 Lakers started 11-19 and they end up with 5th seed. Just sayin.

Shaq took time to get into playing shape, that's why they didn't surpass their best-ever 67-15 season. Of course, that season ended with Kobe crying on the bench.

every game counts.. if they fall 6 or 7 games behind .500 They wont have enough time to make it even if they turn it around.. Its hard to count them out but realistically they wont have a shot if you think about it.. The 8th place team is going to finish probably like 6-8 games above .500 .. lakers will probably start playing better after the all star break but the deficit going to be too much to overcome considering there wont be enough games left

That team started 3-9 because Shaq missed the first 12 games.

They then played .500 ball over the next 15-20 games while he worked himself back into shape, then they went on a tear.

That Lakers team also had the most dominant center ever in his prime, Kobe 10 years younger, Phil, and much better role players.

You can't even compare the two teams.
