I like the name, it has a fresh sound to it. The new colors are also nice, reminds me of the colorway for the Jordan Olympic VII's.
Someone posted a "leak" of the Pelicans logo here on RealGm a while back. Was it confirmed fake? The logo actually looked nice.

I posted it. It appears at this time to be legit, although it will not be identical. The one posted was a rough version of it and the one that will be premiered tomorrow will be a refined version, with "New Orleans" over it and some other little tweaks.

so much better than the generic 'fake tough' names like bobcats or warriors or any other name intended to evoke martial prowess or animal ferocity with no discernible link to the city/area they purportedly represent - like raptors for example
not hating on those franchises, but the names sound so generic, almost as if planning for relocation
now if they could have a logo without a pelican looking 'mad' that would be even better

I like the name Warriors.
It's supposed to represent the Native Americans which lived here. And it's more of a mentality than a literal thing; it represents playing hard and through struggles. That's why you hear certain people describe players like Kobe or Iverson as "Warriors" because they put it all out on the court. That's much different than a name like the Raptors because no one is out there playing like a dinosaur or a Bobcat.
