I disagree with Stan, but I know a lot of people love the guy and agree with him, so it's all good.

No he's not
Slightly better as a rebounder and playmaker, ever so slightly
MJ is in a difference universe as a scorer and defender
Lebron can play the efficiency game better but then again the season isn't over and so far MJ always won the efficiency battle

Stan Van Gundy also said the Heat would go 82-0 the year they were assembled
He says a lot of dumb ****, this being no exception.

SVG is a strangely vocal Jordan critic. Wasn't he the one who said that he wasn't part of the group of people that thinks Jordan is necessarily the greatest ever? This was around the time that Lebron wanted Jordan's number to be retired by the entire league.

Your last point makes no sense.
The only thing Lebron is missing from MJ to get into the discussion is Rings.
You can't make a case for Lebron because his career has just reached its halfway point.
Time will tell...

MJ was better defensively although Lebron is a great defender(bit overrated)
Lebron is an efficient scorer but I disagree with people about his ability to score at will. If his jumper is on, he can take over. But it's still a bit unreliable.
MJ had a better post game, by far.
One could argue MJ was a better leader.
MJ's playmaking is underrated by stat gurus since he played in the triangle. Dudes had countless stretches of unbelievable passing games.
Clutch stats for those who care are there also. I don't care much for them.
Lebron has had a few great playoff games(Detroit matchup while in Cleveland was epic) but MJ just has too many to count.
6/6 Finals appearances for MJ is a bit overrated, since they've gotten knocked out in earlier rounds by worse teams.
6 rings beats 1. You've got D Wade and Bosh, you gotta get more raingzzzz
There's nobody near MJ. If anything you can mention KAJ, Magic, Russel, Wilt but it's so hard to compare bigs to guards. Kind of like Lebron. He's still more like a Magic

King James granted Dallas a royal favor by making just three buckets and scoring a postseason career-low eight points in Miami's Game 4 loss.

Obviously not better career wise but you can make a really good case that LeBron could have a better season this year than any in MJ's career

I agree. get over it people. MJ is ridicoulsly overrated that people have developed this perception that no one can challenge him for GOAT.

SVG is probably just trying to push PER since his brother works for Espn.

A few things. Not that they will matter to anyone in this thread.
1. That was Jeff Van Gundy. Not Stan.
2. I'm pretty sure the full context of what Stan was saying wasn't "Lebron is already better than MJ". I listen to the Lebatard show all the time--and was listening when this quote was supposedly made. I am pretty sure that's part of a larger quote as in "Lebron is already better than Jordan at such and such". I don't remember him saying Lebron was better than Jordan as a player right now. I feel like that would have been a bigger deal.
3. People should listen to the Lebatard show when Stan is on there. Stan is really really good. It's absurd that ESPN didn't hire this guy. He is really on point with his basketball--and as entertaining as his brother--if not moreso. Hopefully TNT will hire him soon. Or an NBA team. He's a really good coach.

He's actually made fun of PER. He had a whole thing on the show where he listed what the all-star team would look like if it was done just by PER to show how ridiculous the stat was to use on it's own.
People just plain making **** up in this thread to see what will stick. That's how mad they are I guess.

According to SVG, Stern blackballed him.

Is each single person's opinion on LeBron vs MJ really thread worthy? What do Obama and Hank Williams JR think about LeBron vs MJ?

I'm saying, that saying that SVG is somehow out there pushing PER because his brother works for ESPN--is making things up. Especially given how he's ridiculed it's usage on the Lebatard show.
