Well he's locked up for 1 more season at 4 mill. "Clarksanity" is the one that will be a free agent tho.

Having a point guard rotation of Chris Duhon and Darius Morris for a good two months of the season probably cost the Lakers about 12-15 losses. I'm dead serious when I say that. Chris Duhon and Darius Morris replaced by Steve Nash and Steve Blake is the definition of a night and day difference. Completely different teams.
I always used to laugh in sadness when Chris Duhon would shoot one of his 4 feet behind the 3 point line threes. It's like Kobe doing a heat check, only with Chris Duhon there has never been any heat to check.

Besides his shooting, Lakers were also missing his feisty defense.

Steve Blake has been playing great basketball lately. He was always terribly underwhelming since he joined the Lakers, but since he returned from injury he looks great. He's not hesitant to shoot anymore, and he's playing low mistake productive basketball, shoring up the Lakers backup point guard spot.
It sounds wierd to say, but he's a huge reason why the Lakers have been on a strong run as of late.

What people fail to realize, is the Lakers at one point were playing Chris Duhon HEAVY minutes because of Nash/Blake injuries. I'm not even bringing up the stretch where Pau/Howard were missing games and Robert Sacre was starting. Lakers have yet to be fully powered and will be there soon.

But, but, but I thought Kobe's selfishness was the reason they struggled.

duhon hasn't been that bad.. he's just not that great. for a 3rd string PG, i can't complain too much.

He was a decent player in Portland who struggled in his early time with the Lakers due to injury and some regression. He's a solid backup

Him and Birdman should get the max. They could go 82-0 together.

Phil and Mike definitely weren't helping his style of play. It's no wonder why MDA stated he wanted Blake, he seems fit for this style of play.

Blake has been playing well for a few weeks now. This is the Blake that I thought the Lakers signed, but he was utter garbage for the majority of his time in L.A.
I swear he played like this every time he played against the Lakers. It was beyond irritating. It's a combination of good health and a coach that emphasizes the back court. I don't expect him to play like this every night, but I'm just happy to see him running and attacking better than he ever has in a Lakers jersey.
