1. Knicks Jason Kidd =/= Dallas Jason Kidd.

2. Jason Terry was a big shot maker and big shot taker. He played at an extremely high level in the postseason. JR Smith is not the same player. He's more of a chucker whereas Terry took shots within the offense.

3. Knicks don't have a JJ Barea or a Shawn Marion, both guys played out of their minds in the postseason.

4. People are over hyping Shumpert right now, he isn't the same player that he was last year. He's slowing working himself back into shape but I don't see him being at full strength until next year.

And this isn't even touching on coaching and chemistry. Plus the Mavs defense was on a whole different level. Their zone and man concepts were a big reason why they made a big time push and eventually won the whole thing.

Celtics-Pacers-Miami is not an easy path to come out of the East... They have to hope Boston doesn't make playoffs or finishes 8th.

Knicks may oust Heat this year...think back to 2011 Dallas.

Post#88 » by GeneralNash » Fri Apr 19, 2013 10:01 am

Seems like Carmelo is due for a finals appearance and this would be the year to do it. Knicks are the Heat's toughest matchup on paper. The thing is the Knicks live on the outside a lot and that is ok if your hot. Dallas did it to Miami by shooting lights out in the 2011 finals and if any team can shoot lights out it is Carmelo...jr rider...steve novak...

Matter of fact Chandler was on that 2011 Dallas team so that is a bad omen for the heat.

Think about matchups:

Chandler vs. Joel
Melo vs. Lebron
Felton vs Chalmers
Novak vs ray allen
Wade vs JR

This is going to be a well matched series. I give the edge to the knicks in the paint with chandler and martin getting rebounds and playing physical. Carmelo and JR cancel out Wade and James.....

So to me the determining factor will be bosh's performance. How productive Bosh is in the series will be the determining factor for each game.

Knicks are just one of those teams....like Dallas...who can get red hot from the field.

I love when opposing fans start jinx threads in an effort to troll a fanbase.

Dallas had something New York doesn't, Dirk.

Think about matchups:

Chandler vs. Birdman
Melo vs. Lebron
Felton vs Chalmers
Novak vs ray allen
Wade vs JR

O Rly? Do they?

I do agree they are one of the harder teams they will face, but this post is just a very large fail.

Chandler >>>> Joel
Melo <<<<<<<<<<<<< Lebron
Felton < Chalmers
Novak <<< ray allen
Wade >>>>>>>>>>> JR

The Heat win these matchups 4-1, so well matched is hardly the right phrase for it.

a) Did Chris Bosh (Arguably the 4th best player in the series) die or something?

b) In no way shape or form do Wade/LeBron get matched by Melo/JR

Knicks and Bulls have a chance. Fortunately for the Heat they won't have to play both of them. This really couldn't have turned out better for the Heat given all he eastern conference injuries.

The only shot the Knicks have is if they are hot. That's not really a match up since if both teams get hot the Knicks still have no chance IMO.

On What planet is JR Smith equal to Wade. JR has had a good season but he is inconsistent and his low IQ is his downfall.

Knicks key is Carmelo playing like he did end of the season and Chandler returning to DPOY from Dallas years.

Does lightening strike twice against Miami? Personally, I don’t think so. This isn’t the same Heat team from 2011 as they’ve added two years of experience in playing with each other since then. I think it’s plausible they get beat by the Knicks (small chance) but I feel as though the 2011 comparison is garbage.

Everybody compares this year’s Knicks team to the 2011 Mavs but the true comparison is the 2011 Heat and this year’s Heat team. Same core players but chemistry between Lebron, Wade, and Bosh is the true difference between 2011 and now.
