Do the Bulls have the second scorer needed to win a ring?

Whether it Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer or Joakim Noah.

What say you?
Just a must-watch army of possessed ass-kickers laying the smack down night after night after night. People are gonna hate playing the Bulls this year.

I don't think so. But they should try to keep Nate.

The Bulls time will come. I'm sure they are putting themselves in a position to make a run at Kevin Love next summer.

They need one more middle of the pack scorer or Butler expands his game even more. Rose has plenty of backup between Deng/Noah/Boozer/etc. Teams can still score together. Every team doesn't have to be a big 3.

Rose is Batman without a Robin & The same goes for Carmelo

Until both teams receive that second helping scorer, their chances of winning a championship are Low .. The Heat will continue to dominate. The only teams in the East that may be able to push Miami is the Nets or Pacers especially if they get a healthy granger back.

They don't. That's why they should trade for Marcus Thornton. :D

People treat this like there are two teams in the NBA: My team and everyone else's team.

There are 30 in the NBA and the Bulls certainly are not #1.

Is it possible for them to win a title as currently constructed? Of course. Would adding a scorer increase the odds? Of course there too. However, adding some mediocre offensive first player is only going to take their odds from like 10:1 to 9:1. Even if the Bulls could do something like trade Deng for Durant (which wouldn't happen in a billion years obviously), it wouldn't guarantee a title even if it made them the best team on paper.

Over the last 34 years, the 2nd best scorer on the championship team scored 17.5 points per 36 min on 54 TS% during the finals, on the losing team it was 17 points on 53 TS%. No idea, but that is an scoring output someone like Deng or Boozer can have for a series, and the difference in scoring from the "2nd scorer" does not explain the difference in overall playing level between those two finalists.

I guess, many just overrating the importance of that "2nd scorer". It is much more important to have good basketball players on the roster, and the Bulls for sure have that. They have their strength rather on the defensive end than on the offensive end, but if a team does not allow the opponent to score as often as they themselves, they still outscore the opponent and win the game.

That is not per se correct. If that said "scorer" is worse at everything else than the player he replaces, the team will very likely become worse. Thus, the odds would shrink.

No they do not and further, JJ Reddick is not the #2 scorer on a title contender.

They are not currently constructed to be a championship team.

They don't have a legit 2nd option, but that doesn't mean they can't win, they just won't be favorites.

It'll be interesting to see what 15 months off from the NBA season has done to DRose. He could come back and be nuts in the playoffs, while Lebron and the Heat run out of gas.

The great defense accompanied by quite a few players who can score 14-18ppg almost make a 2nd "go to scorer" not matter as much. With that said though, I'd love to get another player who can give us 20ppg nightly :D

On well above league average efficiency without taking away from other players, in fact making it easier for the other players on offense, while his defensive abilities are good enough to improve the overall team? Well, yes, in that case I really want to see that "20ppg scorer" on the Bulls as well. But as it stands right now, such a player is hardly available, and I'm pretty sure that with Rose-Butler-Deng-Boozer-Noah and a sufficient bench mob, the Bulls will just do fine. Dunleavy should be able to cover some minutes at SF and maybe can give even some at the 4 spot in a small ball lineup. He is a better overall player than Radmanovic, which makes me believe he will get clearly more minutes. We will see, health is the most important factor. If the Bulls can be healthy for a playoff run, I think they can beat every other team in the league.
