Kings <not> going to give Andre Iguodala a max contract

Post#1 » by taj2133 » Wed Jul 3, 2013 2:07 am

The Kings are reportedly considering giving Andre Iguodala a max offer, which would also mean they likely wouldn't match the offer Tyreke Evans got from the Pelicans, according to ESPN's Raj Sharan.
It's starting to feel like Evans will play for the Pelicans this season, while the Kings might be in the lead to acquire Iguodala, who would fill a small forward spot that has long been a problem in Sacramento. Stay tuned.

If this happens its like the Maloofs, but on the other side of the spectrum. He'll be a bad contract by 2014 at the latest.

I still don't see the Kings making the playoffs until Cousins gets his act together.

Well I think Iggy has a good head on his shoulders and might help change the team culture. It would also aid the development of Ben McLemore as he'd be a good fit next to him. I do not think it is a good deal, far from it as I think Iguodala is overrated by many. But it might help change the culture of the Kings, which is absolutely necessary for the long term.

The max is too much for him, the max is main man money and Iggy is a sidekick.

So if Iguodala and Howard both leave can we officially say Orlando won the Dwight trade?

That's crazy, I like Iggy but he's more of a complimentary player than a max contract guy.

This is what happens when 3 superstars go to the same team. People have to overpay for left overs.
