John Wall Really 6'5"

Post#1 » by cujolll » Fri Aug 2, 2013 10:43 pm

I saw picture of Wall standing next to Bradley Beal who is 6"4 from a team USA picture and Wall was actually taller. I honestly did not know that John Wall was that "big". I thought he was about six foot, "wow". If he develops a consistent jump shot, look out, I like him better than Kyrie.

Lmao dude. Pause & thanks for letting me know John Wall is so big. He was labeled 6'4 coming into the league.

He's probably 6'4 & Beal's probably 6'3. They always drag ppl's height anyways.

That 18 & 8 he was averaging though will look good for a whole season.

Beal Measures 6'4 and 3/4ths in shoes. Unless you saw them both in sneakers I'm not sure how I'd judge it. They're both built surprisingly similar. Condensed and fairly strong/explosive.

6'2.75 in socks. Pretty much 6'7 by NBA measurements.

yeah i once thought Wade would develop a long range jumper, then thought Rondo would develop one as well, then came along Wall who is an even worse long range shooter than those two. Moral of the story, don't place high hopes on Wall developing an outside shot.

Only two vertical measurements should matter to me, height in shoes and standing reach. Guys can really prove their utility with superior standing reach. I never understood why there are two measurements in regards to height unless they start playing the game barefoot.

I think standing reach might be the most important vertical stat. Guys can get an inch or two taller, but if there standing reach is essentially unchanged, their shot, and defensive ability should be the same. Most people don't headbutt the basketball.

What picture did you see? Because every time I've seen Wall next to Beal, Beal is taller

^Wall is still slouching in that one as well. Oh Beal needs to tuck his damn shirt in too

John and Beal are both at a slight incline here. John seems more tilted, but they seem pretty even to me. Most wiz fans think John did grow after his first season I believe.

Actually, Wall is actually 6'7 in shoes.

Pumps, specifically. Beal is 6'8, in stilettoes.

Thought I'd contribute pertinent information.

I think he's talking about this photo, Damian Lillard looks really short in this one.

but here's another photo that makes it look different. It could be the shoes or angle.

Noodlestyle,

I've always thought Lillard is more of a 6'2 PG than a 6'3. He has quite long wingspan and hands though.

Wall and Beal are both probably 6'4 in shoes.

Wow, had no idea Lillard had such a long wingspan, 6'7.75 via Draftexpress. Kyrie Irving is the same exact height w/o shoes but a 6'4 wingspan

Well during Wall's rookie yr, Flip Saunders did say that Wall was probabbly still growing and could possibly top out a 6'6".
