Collins who made history becoming the first openly gay has yet to sign with a team. Kerry Rhodes who is rumored to be gay is un-signed in the NFL. Rhodes was considered a top 10 safety last season and Collins would probably go anywhere for the veteran minimum.

They're both terrible, thanks for attempting to some how make it correlate to being gay though...

Jason Collins has never really been good. I don't believe he was even on a team when he came out.

Collins isn't a rotation player at this point in his career, at his best he's an 11th or 12th man so his talents aren't exactly in demand. And you've got to be high if you think Kerry Rhodes is a top 10 safety in the NFL.

Of course people will find excuses, deep down we know both players would have found a team by now had the rumours not come out.

Shame to see American sports are still ignorant, racist and homophobic in 2013. Thought we were a progressive nation?

Speak for your self. As for Collins I actually thought his coming out had somewhat to do with helping his chances to get signed, as it might be seen as good pr for a team to sign him.

Other than that before he came out most people assumed he'd be as good as retired. If anything coming out helped his chances to get signed for the reason I described.

Exactly we're talking about a guy that hasn't averaged more than 2 points a game in 6 years. He's was an okay player in his prime but he's 34 now and basically done.

I'd rather give a young guy a chance (Thabeet) than Collins if I had to choose between the 2 of them.

Honestly I'm glad Collins didn't get signed. He's a 35 year old who hasn't averaged over 2 points per game for 7 years. His sexuality shouldn't get him a job. This coming from a bisexual man who lives in San Francisco. Judge dude based on his skill, not the genetic makeup of his sexual partner.

Collins is a 12th man on any team and is 35 years old. the only quality gay player in the NBA right now is Rubio.
