Interesting story, I personally like the fact their doing this. It's the start of getting their own identity and not always being looked at as the little brother to the Lakers.

well that's nice.
clippers got their very first pacific division banner last season. some other team might put that up. clippers can't, because of lakers. maybe now they can, and be proud, or something. i hope they do. could use the laugh, depending on how the laker season goes.

Okay now it's time to evict the Clippers from Staples Center.
All jokes aside, if the Lakers' championship banners is bugging them that much, then I guess it's a cool idea. However, as a fan, I'd be embarrassed if my team was hanging up banners of players for lack of championships.

They should have done this a long time ago and if the Clippers were to win a championship this season, the Lakers wouldn't leave it up there during their home games. So, they are doing the right thing here.

Clippers announcers talking about this right now in the preseason game against the Blazers. The analyst guy actually said it wasn't about covering up anything (lol), it was about making the building have a Clippers feeling.
Play by play man said that the Kings banners are in a spot where they can't be covered, and said they don't need to be covered (I guess because not a basketball team competitor of the Clippers?).

Good idea if you ever want to be a franchise with any pride in yourselves. Of course having pride in themselves is a new concept for Sterling's eternal second class citizens, but its time now with them getting serious about the playoffs.
