They are getting blown out by the Kings and are about to fall to 2-5

2-5. Season over. Makes sense.

DeRon Williams. WTF happened to that guy!????? He was once herald as the next best PG along with Chris Paul. Too damn talented, and I know he may have motivational issues, but it shouldn't be THIS bad. Of course they do have a lot of over the hill players. I also feel this team isn't gelling because they just don't get along that well *shrugs*

Did I ever say their season was over?? All the question was asking was who should most of the blame be on after an awful start?

There is no way to conceivably do that. None of their players are worth what they make, and they don't have any draft picks they can keep for like 5 years.

This was more to reference to the thread that popped up a few days ago that was quickly locked.
I think it's more of a meshing issue. You're talking about 3 ball dominant players on one team. And those are just the wings.
Brooks is a great offensive post up option, but with so many wings he tends to get ignored while getting position.

They were always starting off slow IMO.

Lmao the only tradeable asset the Nets have is Deron and Lopez. This year they have choice but to ride to the death. But if they do fail miserably, I think they should trade Deron and build around Lopez.
BTW, I'm sure I'm not the only fan secretly enjoying the Nets fail. Sorry Prok, you've much to learn about the game of basketball. Money doesn't always mean success.

Seems like quite a few of their players are done. I'm surprised.
Garnett looks awful.

KG is done. I'm actually sad. I think hes' calling it quits after the season. Shoulda retired in Beantown with dignity.

For me, this all falls on the veterans.
Kidd was never going to step right in and be a great coach. They hired him for his name, not his ability. Now, could he be a decent coach down the road? Sure. But right now, he looks like a kid on his first day at a new school - he has no clue what to do. Can't blame him when people had unrealistic expectations for what he could do.
A team with those guys, should not be having problems like they are. I don't mean that from a talent point of view, they are older and the expectations were not realistic. BUT, they just go through the motions. They aren't playing like they want to win. Its a shame really.
This is coming from someone who wanted to see Brooklyn fail(mostly because their fans constantly telling Pacer fans how they would 4-0 us without a problem, ect.), but its just kinda sad to watch. They'll turn it around, but I think its clear they aren't going to be dominating anyone.

He has absolutely no reason for having motivational issues. He's being doubted constantly, he's on the verge of leaving his prime without anything substantial on his resume, and he's being passed up by up and coming PGs left and right. That should light a fire under his ass. Not enough? How about the fact that he not only has talent around him, but perhaps the MOST talent around him of any "franchise player." If motivational issues are his deal, that's a big problem.
I don't think that's entirely the case though. He's been hurt frequently these past couple years and he hasn't had an extended period of time to hit his stride without being interrupted by another injury.

In regards to last weeks thread about the Nets sucking, I said they're going to start out slow, but get a lot better soon after. Now? I would certainly start worrying....

The coaching staff is not putting guys in position to succeed. There's no initiative on who's going to take charge. Most possession the guys are clueless on who's going to take the shot.
Brooks' post game slows Deron's pick and pop game with KG.
Pierce and Joe Johnson plays the same way.
IMO, they should do some tweaks on their rotation.

RIP KG. Great player and GOAT level douchebag. Your shenanigans will be missed.
