LeBron's still the best in the league at this point.

Off of what KingCuban said on the last post of the last thread:

I think as NBA fans we're predisposed to think teams who make flashier/splashier moves, while other teams who were already really good stay put, are "doing the right things" and "moving in the right direction while the teams staying put can't or won't improve since the pieces are the same. In OKC's case, they had an already young core who was always going to improve even if you removed one of the key pieces. Then, on top of that, you add in a bevvy of new young pieces with good potential, then it shouldn't be a surprise that there's been continued improvement since the Harden trade. Not saying the team wouldn't have improved to a greater extent if they still had Harden, but they also wouldn't be as deep and balanced as they are now.

Also, for whatever reasons, things like chemistry and continuity seemed to be greatly overlooked when considering important things that make teams a contender. OKC now has a core that's been playing together for five seasons and have added low-key role players who know their role.

Is kevin Love still in the convo? Two games out of the 8th seed and putting up spme sick numbers.

Id say

1. Durant
2. Lebron
3. George
4. Aldridge
5. Love

Honestly forgot about Cp3. He'd be #3 ahead of PG

I think that would be about right. Can't put Love any higher since his team is .500 though I think he is better than Aldridge.

You laugh as if Love isn't clearly a better player than Lamarcus? That team has been a two headed monster with an elite supporting cast. And without Lillard's crazy clutchness this season, the record isn't all that different.

For what it's worth, in Hollinger's computer based power rankings the Wolves rank 5th. Portland 7th. They're pulling out the victories, but he is no shape or form as important to the squad as Love is to the Wolves. And the #'s between the two individually aren't close.

I'd have:

1 a/b: KD / Lebron
3 a/b: Cp3 / Curry
5 a/b: Love / LMA
7 a/b: PG / Lillard
9: Hibbert
10: Dirk

I actually meant how is LMA ahead of CP3. I consider Love better than LMA but on the MVP ladder he would be lower since he has less team success(due to having an inferior team).

Kevin Love's last 10 games: 30.8 ppg on 50% shooting along with 14.1 rpg and 4.4 apg

I think the season has been long enough to put my list down for the moment.

1)kd
2)lbj
3)cp3
4)George
5)LMA

I see a close race this year between the top 2. Don't know who'll win, this could legitimately be kd's year.

5-5 record.

I like Love, but he isn't in the discussion, even with the god like stats.

Aldridge is overrated. His TS% is .514 - that's bad for a guard, much less a PF.
Just look at the other guys he gets compared to:
Kevin Love : .595
Blake Griffin : .574
Dirk Nowitzki : .601
Chris Bosh: .601

He is easily Portland's best player, so he will automatically get some mvp consideration.

He takes primarily long two's, no 3's, and a few FT's only. So his TS is gonna be low. But his consistency and the fact that he's the star of one of the top teams will put him in conversation

Lol @boxscore stats. Aldridge makes offense much better than all those guys, maybe except Dirk who is rich man's Aldridge. And that's what count, not the efficiency (which is one of the way of making the offense better).
