Russell Westbrook Doesn't Want To Talk About Pat Beverley

Ahead of tonight game against the Houston -- the first time since his knee surgeries that Russell Westbrook will compete against the Rockets -- Russell Westbrook did not want to discuss Patrick Beverley, the Rockets player involved in the play which resulted in Westbrook's original knee problem.
First, Westbrook was asked if he still held anything against Beverley.
“Nah,” an irritated Westbrook shot back.
Then, moments later, he was asked whether everything was reconciled between the two.
“What’d I just say?” an increasingly more agitated Westbrook retorted. “That’s it. No more questions about that.”
Just a guess that Westbrook will be extra motivated tonight. Popcorn ready!

Westbrook appears to be always bothered about something, he barely plays the game without uttering all kinds of crap while running up and down the court. Him and Cousins should be teammates. Its nice to have a chip on your shoulder but it must be tiresome to be a complete a-hole all the time.

Competitive anger is the best way to put it. Works for him most of the time, against him occasionally

Completely agree. He's an ass to most reporters, and he's always angry. Dude needs to chill

Re: Russell Westbrook Doesn't Want To Talk About Pat Beverle
“He was standing there, it was a dead ball and he was trying to tell the referees to review the play. While he was telling them to do it, I don’t know why he felt the need to put his forearm in my chest and jump up and down,’’ Lillard said. “I’m just like ‘What you doing? What are you doing?’ “I pulled his arm off, and he said ‘You are going to stop pushing me’ and taking his mask off, which is unnecessary,’’ Lillard said. “Whatever.’
"You got somebody out there that wants to be bumping and doing little slick stuff," said Lillard after the game. "I'm not going to buy into it, but I'm also not going just to let it fly, I'm going to say something. That's what he does, and I don't really care for that. I'm not going to let somebody be all in my chest and doing all this extra stuff. That's not basketball."
Lillard finished the game with 21 points, four assists, and seven turnovers.
"Everybody knows what he does to get under people's skin," Lillard added.
On Monday, Rockets guard Patrick Beverley made his weekly appearance on The Matt Thomas Show on SportsTalk790 and addressed Lillard's comments.
"The way I guard him, the way I guard Steph Curry, the way I guard Chris Paul, the way I guard Goran Dragic," Beverley responded, "I guard all players the same. I don't look at film on players. I don't look at players' habits. I go out there and impose my will on people and I do what I do, and I'm aggressive on defense."
Beverley finished with six steals in the game, before fouling out in overtime.
"Damian Lillard whines," Beverley added. "I'm not a big fan of that. I don't go out there and try to start fights with anybody. I go out there and play my game."
"Prior to this game, [Lillard] was shooting 29% against me," said Beverley. "That's credit to our team defense. We don't go out there and try to hurt people or hack people. We go out there and be aggressive on defense and that's what gets us stops."

should be a great game both teams playing well. Beverly has been playing well; OKC and Westbrook shouldn't feel entitled to anything here.

I love how they had to add irritated there.

Spoiler:
Makes sense Probably not the same game, but i remember this one game Bev was constantly getting under Lillard's jump, trying to trip him up. He's been playing less dirty lately, but man.. I hate this guy.

It's just amazing the amount of crap he gets away with on the court. Any other player would foul out with 6 minutes left to go in the 1st quarter if they tried to play defense like Beverley is allowed to do.

Lots of great evidence to support your argument here. I think the primary complaint from NBA players regarding Beverley is not what he's doing during the 1st quarter or any quarter. The issue people like Damian Lillard keep bringing up is the way he tries to get under opposing team's player's skin after the whistle has been blown. Beverley is like a shorter Kevin Garnett with his on court persona. I for one am a huge fan.

I enjoy watching KG on the court, but he's not quite the injury-risk to opposing players that Beverley is. I will admit though, that Bev has been less dirty as of late.
