Kobe's Wingspan

I've been thinking why no one is in the league was even close to Kobe making tough shots on great defenses. I came to the conclusion that Kobe's wingspan must be way above average for his height. There is no official documentation of his wingspan except some really small sites.

I've seen him post up guys much taller like Carmelo, AK47, and even Durant. He can pull up and shoot basically over anyone and he rarely gets his jumpshot blocked.

Kobe's vertical isn't that high. His head is never at rim level like Vince, Lebron, Blake. Yet, he's had some of the most amazing dunks in league history. It must be the wingspan.

Durant's wingspan is well documented but I wonder what Kobe's is.

I've come to realize that wingspan is a tremendous attribute for a basketball player - more so than quickness or strength.

He doesn't have an extremely long wingspan, nor does he have big hands. The reason you see him making those shots is simply because of countless hours of practice and hard work.

One thing that you failed to mention is Kobe's genius level basketball instinct, IQ and skillset. That makes him unpredictable on offense making him tough to defend even against taller and more athletic defenders.

Kobe's wingspan is just a smidge smaller than Jordan's

Actually I don't know, but that answer seems correct.

I heard he has the second best wingspan for a shooting guard of all time.

Kobe has extremely small hands compared to someone like MJ and Leonard. He is able to get his shot off due to his elite footwork and repertoire of shots.

Kobe isn't physically gifted at all, small hands, wingspan seems to be average. It's his skillset and ability to read the defense and create space to get difficult shots off.

Hard to block a guy's shot when he's jumping away from the basket.

He has the best reflexes I've ever seen from a basketball player. Kobe is 6'6, Wingspan: 6-11
Standing Reach: 8-9, shoe size 14. Kobe has smaller hands but has bigger feet than Jordan who wears size 13.

Taken from NBA.com... 6'11 wingspan with an 8'9" standing reach. So yeah, huge wingspan for a guard.

All the GOAT SGs have elite wingspan. Wade's is just ridiculous considering he's shorter.

Michael Jordan 6'11.25"
Kobe Bryant 6'11"
Dwayne Wade 6' 10.75"

Kobe isn't physically gifted? Really? Dude won the dunk contest. He's pretty physically gifted. Maybe not a freak, but still.

Kobe is/was definitely physically gifted. When people say that, they really mean compared to Jordan I think.

Wingspan is super important but probably more so on D.
