It's not reasonable when one team must come from each conference. Trail Blazers don't belong over the Raptors or Heat, given the difficult road they face to get to the Finals. Same for the Mavericks. That said, I'm taking OKC.
Didn't even notice the Trailblazers up there. In my opinion the odds are currently against the East at the very top.
Spurs
OKC
Then you have a team like the Clippers who have the playoff experience, the chemistry, but continue to disappoint in advancing to the WCF, so they are ify, and if not for that you comfortably put them over someone like the Cavs/Bulls.
I agree though, i'd trust a team like the Heat over the Trailblazers, not sure about the Raptors though.
I think the important point, as has been the case for many seasons now, is that several good/great teams from the West won't advance beyond the WCF. Once you get to the Finals, anything can happen if you have a good matchup. Regular season records become irrelevant, just ask the 2004 Lakers team.
Right which is why the poll only shows two teams in the East. As a general consensus, no one actually sees someone other than the Bulls or Cavs coming out of the East. It could happen though, but as of now, feels unlikely. So all this poll is really saying is, every team after Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, are better than any other team not named Cavs/Bulls in the East (debatable), not necessarily that they have a great chance to advance to the Finals.
