Weird, it's almost as if something has changed since then.

(I do expect Miami to be a good team, though.)

True but some of the teams on here ARE NOT better than the Heat are

Why is Scott Brooks still there as a head coach?
well yeah I still don't think that cast around KD and russ is good enough. Perkins is still a starter too

It's not reasonable when one team must come from each conference. Trail Blazers don't belong over the Raptors or Heat, given the difficult road they face to get to the Finals. Same for the Mavericks. That said, I'm taking OKC.

Didn't even notice the Trailblazers up there. In my opinion the odds are currently against the East at the very top.

Spurs
OKC

Then you have a team like the Clippers who have the playoff experience, the chemistry, but continue to disappoint in advancing to the WCF, so they are ify, and if not for that you comfortably put them over someone like the Cavs/Bulls.

I agree though, i'd trust a team like the Heat over the Trailblazers, not sure about the Raptors though.

I think the important point, as has been the case for many seasons now, is that several good/great teams from the West won't advance beyond the WCF. Once you get to the Finals, anything can happen if you have a good matchup. Regular season records become irrelevant, just ask the 2004 Lakers team.

Right which is why the poll only shows two teams in the East. As a general consensus, no one actually sees someone other than the Bulls or Cavs coming out of the East. It could happen though, but as of now, feels unlikely. So all this poll is really saying is, every team after Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, are better than any other team not named Cavs/Bulls in the East (debatable), not necessarily that they have a great chance to advance to the Finals.

Miami wouldn't be able to beat any of the teams listed in a 7 game series.

We don't have LeBron, let's get real here.

I'll go with Cavs. But the main reason for that isn't that they're the best team in the league, it's that I feel like Thunder will have the upper hand on Spurs and Cavs will have the upper hand on Thunder. If it's Spurs v. Cavs in the Finals, it'll easily be Spurs.

The question isn't who's making the Finals; it's who's winning the Finals.

I can see Miami lucking into the Finals, but the chances of them winning it all is much lower.

I understand that my thing is you have teams like Golden State and Portland on here before Miami....

I think it's going to be the Cavs, Thunder or Mavs.

Thunder and Mavs have the Spurs number and I don't see the revenge motivation in play anymore for the Spurs.

My vote was a homer vote but really I think this is OKC's year to win it all.

Every year you think the Spurs will finally fall off and every year they don't. In fact they seem to get better.

I hate to say it because I hate Leborn, but the Cavs are going to win.

Kyrie and Love are going to have fun playing for a winning team for the first time in their NBA careers.
Lebron will be re-energized by moving home
Marion is still incredibly underrated and can still produce
Their other role players and young talent aren't too shabby either.

If they make that trade for Hibbert, they have 4 all stars in their starting 5.

No one else in the east is even close except maybe Chicago IF Chicago stays healthy. They will have a cake walk season and 2 easy playoff rounds before they reach the ECF and then likely the WCF.
