No one saw the Mavs winning in 2011, they come out absolutely no where. Actually, folks were kind of surprised the 13 Spurs dominated their way to the Finals before losing in 7... everyone brushed off the aging stars (Duncan, Dirk, etc.) and just assumed they had no chance against Miami and OKC.

It really comes down to health in May. I mean, if Lebron or Love tweak their ankles in May, things look a lot different. Spurs might have a lot of young talent, but they're not winning unless Parker and Duncan are in good shape. Again, in terms of probability, here's my ranking:

1. Cavs
2. Spurs
3. Bulls
4. Thunder
5. Clippers
6. Warriors
7. Mavs

I'll take us over the Thunder because we have more depth and proven talent (after the top-3). Sure, we need Rose, but OKC also needs Durant/Russ/Ibaka. A serious injury to either of the 3 really hurts the team's chances, esp. in the Western conf. finals. Obviously a major Rose injury would kill our hopes, but every position still has a competent/promising backup.

It amazes me how the Bulls have been overrated every year since 2011, it never fails lol.

Clippers, as well, but at least most people understand that the Clippers don't fit the criteria of a championship team.

The Bulls' best player is a PG, which automatically reduces their aspirations, based on the history of the NBA(unless you're Magic or Isiah, or have a balanced team like Billups). That PG is probably a shell of his former self, too, a player that relies entirely on athleticism, but has finished knees.

Their 2nd best player is like 35, and they don't have any other players that can create their own shot(don't care about any homer opinions that state otherwise).

Why do Bulls fans keep saying, "well, every team needs their star to be healthy"?

Rose isn't in the same category, he hasn't played real basketball in a long time, and the last time we saw him in a regular season game, he looked absolutely embarrassing. Rose is extremely injury prone and he still has to prove that he has anything left in his knees. It's not comparable to other teams, at all.

Agreed. The Bulls would be fighting for the 6-8 seed in the West. The Clippers are another team, which couldn't even win 2 series, and people think they can top the Spurs? Please. It's between Cleveland and San Antonio, and that's it.

Well...a major part of the reason they even got there 4 straight times is because of a player who is now on the Cavs.

He was a reason but not a MAJOR part....

not trolling at all. If he was a Major part in the Heat winning why wasn't he a Major part in the Cavs winning the 7 previous years...

Really hard to guess this year but if I had to choose I would say the Spurs.

He has got to be kidding. I am really rooting for the Heat this year but how can the best player on your team/NBA/World not be considered a Major part of winning the chip?

Because his teammates played how Bosh and Wade did in the Finals all throughout the playoffs basically every year.

This is not a winnable fight. So if LBJ wasn't a major part of those titles do you see the Heat competing for a title this year? What kind of record do you see for them?

I put their title chances at about 12.5%.

There's a reason why they have never repeated. A deep title run wears out your legs and they're too old to recover.

This is the year SA falls off the map and lose in the 1st round.

You heard it here first.

Lol they had a deep playoff run in 2013 too. Just because they didn't win they were able to get fresh legs in 2014?

I don't think there's a clear favorite. The gap between say the top 10 teams is the probably the slightest it's been in quite a while. Practically every single Western conferee team has a legitimate shot against whomever manages to make it out of the East. There's probably only two teams in the East that are legitimate contenders (CLE and CHI).

Durant's surprising injury concerns me a bit but I think this is the year the thunder may finally break through. Steven Adams may finally give them the dominant inside presence to compliment their perimeter stars.

Spurs or Cavs

Gotta take the Spurs with the edge of experience and coaching. Lebron's cast just needs a little more experience, 1-2 years together.

Yeah I can see that. That haywood expiring next year could be huge.
