I know it's a stupid question, but is there a rule against wearing gloves?
Like could a shot blocker where a pair of goalie gloves on defense?

Then just tuck them into his shorts on offense.

How does wearing gloves help in basketball though? With basketball it's all about touch, whether it be dribbling, making passes, heck even rebounding, you want to feel able to feel the basketball and wearing a glove would prevent that.
Not sure how gloves helps shot blocking at all, that would seem like a silly example. If there is anything in which having a glove or big hands would help is perhaps rebounding and going up for a dunk with body contact, and you're not going to have players wear gloves only for certain situations.

Lol what ???
Anybody who knows anything about basketball knows there is absolutely no positive to wearing gloves during a game .
Only time a basketball player will wear gloves is during practice to get better at ball handling .
How would a glove help shot blocking at all ? It's not like soccer that has a huge goal , with basketball if you get a legit fingernail on a shot / layup the shots has hardly a chance of going in .
And with blocking a Lebron / griffin dunk aye it mighttttt help for that one possession of a game but that's one possession in an entire game if that .

by I beg to differ
If I can't bring my cape and monocle to the court, the NBA can forget about drafting me.

Ridiculous thread, but I could see where a "glove" could help if it could be really thin and form fitting and helped with controlling sweat. I'm sure there's guys in the league who sweat a ton and it could hinder some of their abilities like ball handling or shooting.

I think they've worn things that look a bit like gloves, in the case of injuries. I seem to recall Amar'e punching a fire extinguisher and then having a ton of bandages wrapped around his hand so that it almost looked glove-like.
And players have practice in some camps with gloves not only on their hands but on the balls as well, I think. The added uncertainty is to make conditions more unpredictable in order for them to work on their handles.
But in general, with basketball, having gloves is a negative, since it gives you less control and manual dexterity with the ball.

After seeing the thread title I instinctively thought of Kevin Love, but that was a protective glove for his injury.
