Stutttering issues watching NBA league pass international

Post#1 » by Freefloater » Tue Oct 14, 2014 6:53 am

Hello

I experience a lot of stuttering issues....tried different browsers, tried different speed and its all the same....cant remember if this was present during live games because i rarely watch live games but watching stored games....this shouldnt be happening... is there any solution to that? or this will be only present during preseason?
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

This is why I choose ballstreams... everyone on forums was crying about stutter, blackout, lag, connection problems... no thanks.

Does Ballstreams only offer 800kbs and 3200kbps streams with nothing in between?

I bought a month because it was listed as 800-3200kbps, but those are the only two I have seen so far. I think they tricked me. 800 isn't good enough - i'd prefer using league pass. And 3200 is too good for my internet.

It's adaptive, between 800 and 3500K. So, theoretically, the streams will automatically adjust to your maximum internet speed. Fact is, even at 800 if you don't stare at the monitor it does not look bad... but yeah, if you paid you want max value for your money.

Are you sure?

Because when I go to watch a game it has the two options on the side, SD or HD. (800 or 3200).

I haven't seen anything about the automatic adjustment. I hope you're right.

From their site:

BallStreamsâ„¢ utilizes Flash and Windows Media to deliver live and on-demand streams. Our infrastructure allows users to watch streams with a bitrate of up to 3200Kbps.

On our Flash streams, we employ the use of adaptive bandwidth. If your internet is slower than 3200Kbps then the stream will automatically reduce in quality to fit your network capabilities.

Our streams are all broadcasted in a 1280x720 720P resolution unless otherwise noted.

I mean... this is what they say. I will suggest you, put the stream on 3200 or whatever, the max, and then wait and see if the image quality DO get worst. That's the adaptive nature of it. I can suggest you to watch the stream on VLC instead of the Flash player, some people notice that stutter go away in this way.

I just read that via VLC the adaptive stream seems to not be working, so you can see 3200 or 800, nothing in between. Only the flash player is adaptive.

I had no problems with live or stored games. It was very smooth at 3000k.. Try to clean history and empty cache first and reload.

I'm in Australia and don't have any problem whatsoever... it's been brilliant for about 2 years now with no buffering.

You do need a decent connection though. Whats your internet connection at home?

Sounds stupid, you've probably already don it but when I had these issues I found clearing "the Cache" seemed to solve it 90% of the time. I'm on of the few who don't seem to have any problems with LP. Hope it works out.

I have buffering issues with ballstreams. About once /min I get 3 secs of buffering where the screen freezes. Very annoying. I have over 10Mbps speed and have gone through ballstreams suggestions and nothing works. I have found that the buffering gets better during off peak hours and gets worse when their are live streams going on. This points to ballstreams servers being overloaded. Hopefully they fix it.

i didnt do it for some reason but dont you think trying another-a totally new installed browser should count as clearing the cache?

yeh changing browser should fix all. Saying that one of the times I had a problem the support team emailed me and told me to use google chrome instead of safari but it was worse. So clearing cache on safari seemed ot do it for me.

the other day i was watching 2 stored games switching alternatively between them... one was free of stutter and the other was almost unwatchable...the one without stutter was one that was nationaly televised...how strange is that?
