Something new for All Star Weekend?

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but why not try to get the NBA alumni involved by having a "Legacy" game. It could replace the ridiculous celebrity game and would feature only retired NBA players. Maybe even make a rule that players must have been retired a full year before participating (to let that rust start kicking in a little bit  ).

They could make teams based on the year the player was a rookie, doing an even and odd team. Like all of the rookies from 90, 92, etc., vs. the ones from 89, 91, and so forth. That way you might see some former all star rivals playing on the same team.

It would clearly be a fun, pickup game for many of the veterans, but it would be a hell of a lot more entertaining than the celebrity game. I think it would be a good way to spice up ASW. Thoughts?

I think a Legends Three Point Shootout could be cool. No worries of hurting the players.

Imagine a Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Craig Hodges, Steve Kerr shootout. Would be fun to see how their skills held up.

Aren't they doing 3 on 3 in the Olympics? A three on three tournament might be interesting.
