Biggest NBA team fanbase, and why?

I'd say Lakers due to the area, history, stars, and winning they have maintained for a while. IF this was 2011 or 2012 i'd say lakers by a LOONG shot, but due to their lackluster performance these past couple of years, the bandwagoners are migrating to teams like the warriors and clippers (eww). Id still give them the Lakers the lead though. Second is Bulls id say.

Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls (Michael Jordan), and the New York Knicks are the three main markets from my knowledge. Minnesota has a rather large European and Australian fan base in comparison to most teams, but our number of total fans is poor because our team is just so dreadful, haha.

Edit: I totally forgot about the Raptors, they have a massive fan base also.

There's many ways to measure this (tv ratings, social media followers, home and away attendance records, merchandise sales etc)

Lakers win this.

Bulls and Celtics are in the next tier, due to their winning history.

Raptors have really come on strong over the last decade, despite not having any winning history. If and when they go to the Finals or win the championship, they can really become the dark horse for this.

Lakers by far. Knicks fans are #2 but they go into hiding until they're good again.

This looks solid and pretty hard to argue with. The proofs in the team boards thread count. Those teams have the most posters by miles ahead of everyone else on real gm

Poor phrasing on the rather large as I was mainly eluding the European. That said, from my knowledge I thought that Minnesota had quite a few (not insane amounts, but still solid amounts of) Australian fans. I may obviously be incorrect as you likely would know better than I given that you are Australian. :lol:

Im canadian, and i dont rep the raptors.. im a Lakers fan. Alot of my friends also pursue interest in other nba teams rather than the raptors too. You can't just make assumptions like that, Kobblehead. Maybe individuals in Ontario are hardcore raptors fans but Canada has other provinces too. (P.S, millions Canadians live closer to Portland than Toronto ;p)

LAL and NYK are the most popular fan bases by a large amount. The Lakers are an easy #1 regardless if they haven't been good the past few years.

Raptors are very popular on this site and they do have excellent attendances, but I highly doubt they're touching LA and NYK.

Anyone who says anything other than the Lakers is kidding themselves. They seem to by far be the most widespread fanbase. Bulls and Rockets seem to have a lot of international pull as well.
