As much as it pains me to say it...I think I would want to go to the Lakers. Both franchises are a dumpster fire but I think the Lakers have a better chance of bringing in big time free agents.

Also, if you actually look at what I said, it's that the Lakers have a better chance then the Knicks of picking up a big free agent. This is a comparative measure, not an objective statement that they have a great chance period.

Like the Cubs managerial spot, if you succeed with that team after all of the misery that has gone on....you become all the more loved. Fans would love and get behind whoever is picked by the Knicks, probably more than any other team because we have lacked a top draft pick for so long due to incompetence from GMs.

I mean the fans were going **** crazy over losing Gallo in that Melo deal, its because he represented a high draft pick with the chance of being a (then) franchise building piece.

I think Okafor realized that. He would have been making so much more money with commercials locally in NY and with tons of opportunities. That's not to say that other places may not have....but he would have been viewed and beloved maybe more than Carmelo due to being a homegrown talent.

He should be playing in Chicago
